I am proposing this page and all other seperate articles for each station on this metro line to be deleted. They all fail notability criteria for stations (see WP:STATION) and most are unsourced, single sentence articles, proving their lack of notability. Some of the stations on the line already lack a saperate page. All relevant information for each station is on the parent article (Shiraz Metro). This includes every station name in order, a map, whether the station has connections, whether it is active, and the year it was opened. Therefore, the separate articles are unnecessary and go against Wikipedia criteria for separate articles SJD Willoughby (talk) 20:15, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merge and redirect to a new article about the line they are on. The level of detail is too great for the main metro article but there isn't enough information (at least not yet) in English to support stand-alone articles. However, like the vast majority of rapid transit stations, the stations are plausible search terms to we should take readers directly to the content we have rather than hoping search results (which may be several clicks/taps away) always prominently return the relevant articles at the top of the list (which cannot be guaranteed). Not sure what you mean by "the level of detail is too great for the main metro article" as there is no detail and 90% of the info on the separate articles can also by found on the metro article SJD Willoughby (talk) 01:05, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(Correct me if I'm wrong) I think Thryduulf is suggesting that the information about each line be split out from the main Shiraz Metro article to a dedicated article for each line (for example Line 1 (Shiraz Metro), Line 2 (Shiraz Metro) etc), before redirecting the articles about the individual stations to the respective lines they serve (eg Razi Metro Station (Shiraz) to the new line 1 article), which is something we usually do for metro systems. As another example, International Airport station (Ürümqi Metro) currently redirects to the line it is on, that is Line 1 (Ürümqi Metro), instead of the system, in this case Ürümqi Metro.

As for me, I would be supportive of the above measure, but since the articles haven't been created yet, the current proposal to redirect to Shiraz Metro works for me too. S5A-0043^Talk 08:05, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your input! Do you think if a separate article for each line were created, they wouldnt be up for deletion/merging discussions later on? As I say, all relevant information can already be found in the main article about the metro, which is not too long itself SJD Willoughby (talk) 18:48, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm inclined to think that since things around a heavy-rail metro line (for example the start of construction, opening, etc) would be a pretty huge thing for a city, it should receive coverage enough to pass WP:GNG, so deletion isn't likely. Although the current information is a bit short, adding a bit of history (on the construction for example) would probably bring it to a state relatively safe from merging. The end result would probably look similar to what Line 16 (Wuhan Metro) currently is. S5A-0043^Talk 07:14, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
