This violates Wikipedia:Userboxes#Content restrictions in that the box is divisive and uncivil. Many Wikipedians, myself included, started out as single purpose accounts. Single purpose accounts may go on to become editors on other parts of Wikipedia if they haven't been driven away first. While this box may not be what causes them to leave it might help. Why is it divisive? It's a guy expressing his own personal opinion on his own personal page. You have to dig even to find it. Serendipodous 17:32, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No digging required, Wikipedia talk:Single-purpose account#2017 including the fact that they are "opposed to SPA's". CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 21:55, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There are some here but the number should not matter. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 21:55, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Which phrase have I misunderstood? CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 21:55, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
User:CambridgeBayWeather - No. You didn't misunderstand. The phrase is Single-Purpose Account. It is misunderstood by many editors to be be negative, when in fact it is neutral. An editor who posts about nothing except shipwrecks is a Single-Purpose Account, and we need well-sourced articles on shipwrecks, which are often important historical events. The userbox misunderstands. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:29, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
