- 'Delete: I concur, so many alarm bell triggers on display here e.g. lack of a proper description. - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 14:22, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. It is a screenshot of the music video "I Can't Hear the Music" by Brutha as seen on Youtube. The song and most likely the music video are (C) 2008 The Island Def Jam Music Group. I also would assume that there is no coincidence that the image dimensions are the same size as the standard Youtube video player box. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 15:23, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- As the linked page states "Except where expressly stated to the contrary the text and graphics and the information contained in this database is the copyright of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England." Thus, there is no reference to Crown Copyright and OGL-licensing cannot correctly be inferred, as far as I am aware. - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 14:20, 4 May 2012 (UTC) - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 14:20, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: keep and mark as fair use. — ξxplicit 01:11, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- File:Tarnavsky.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- It says that the photo was taken prior to 1921 by an unidentified person who died at least 100 years ago. 1921 was less than 100 years ago, and given that the photographer is unidentified, it is not clear how it is known that the person died before 1912. No source given, so not possible to determine if the photo is out of copyright in the United States. Stefan2 (talk) 15:15, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: I would suggest [1] is the source (pre-dates upload by years). Russian copyright is a complex issue; Commons rules don't indicate clearly how works of unknown origin are to be treated. This needs to be looked into carefully. - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 15:54, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. The template automatically described it as 100 years old; clearly it isn't, the photo is about 90 years old. The same picture is used on Russian wiki and has been up there for awhile: [2]. The subject was the commander of the Ukrainian Galician Army, which existed only right after World War I.Faustian (talk) 16:45, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment I've added interwiki links between the English and the Russian copies of the photo. If published before 1923, we could use {{PD-US-1923-abroad}}, but I'm not sure that we have any evidence of any early publication of the photo. If unfree, I would guess that it would qualify for fair use since the person is dead. --Stefan2 (talk) 17:12, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- I can't read the page where the permission is supposed to be given, but Google Translate doesn't seem to mention any permissions. Could some Arabic speaker check? Stefan2 (talk) 15:22, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- "Pre-1994" - why? Date of publication of this photo is not mentioned in source Bulwersator (talk) 16:50, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- "Pre-1994" might be the date of creation. The man died in 1953, so the photo must have been created before 1994. Of course, what matters is the date of publication and not the date of creation. --Stefan2 (talk) 17:15, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. Uploader: if the photographer has indeed released the image under a free license, please follow the instructions explained at WP:CONSENT. — ξxplicit 00:57, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- States "Author: LGIR Source: Own" which leaves the actual copyright situation unclean when combined with the uploader's history of copyright indifference. Eeekster (talk) 23:52, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This was taken from the department's official facebook page and I have been authorised by the photographer who took the photo to upload it here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kjmc28 (talk • contribs) 14:38, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
