The result of the discussion was no consensus Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 02:39, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Propose delete: I don't see any reason to merge together all these people in one template. "Middle Eastern American" is not a common term in the United States to refer to people from Western Asia, North Africa, Cyprus and Afghanistan. The term is also Euro-centric, there is also already an Asian American template, North African American template, European American template, and an Arab American template. Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 01:10, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Keep - for now. I am not so sure the template is without any merit. The terms "Middle Easterner" and "Middle Eastern" are used quite frequently in the U.S. A simple Google search[1], depending on the search string, can find anywhere from half a million to seventeen million hits. I believe this particular template links to at least a few articles in existence, and at one point, there was actually an article called "Middle Eastern Americans," whose deletion involved participants with highly charged points of view leading up to it's deletion. As for why these various groups are lumped together, that is very common place in both U.S media and politics[2]. All of this should be taken into account. The Scythian 02:04, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Isn't it interesting that the first hit in your google search is the category? Just because an American website has a section for "MIDDLE EAST & NORTH AFRICA" doesn't mean that people from those country's in the template are commonly refereed to as "middle eastern Americans", the website you link to does not even mention "Middle Eastern Americans" --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 20:51, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- It's true that a quoted "Middle Eastern American" Google search bumps the Wikipedia template to the top. The only problem with that rational is that virtually any thing you search for, will place either a Wikipedia article or template at or near the top. That is the nature of Google's ranking system, and how it relates to the Wikipedia website. It also does not address the very notion of "Middle Easterners" in the U.S, which is a term that has been used in everything from nightly news broadcasts to state and federal level courts of law. I suppose a better question would be, why is there no article covering this group on Wikipedia, and why was it deleted in the first place? The Scythian 00:48, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- "Middle Eastern American" is not a common name for these people, they are refereed to as "Arab American", "European American", "Cypriot American", "Iranian American" etc, this is the reason why ether is no "Middle Eastern American" article while there are articles for Arab Americans, European Americans, Cypriot Americans, Iranian American etc. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 12:03, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, it is[3]. "Middle Eastern American" is incredibly common, and your average American, including myself, would find your notion that it isn't both laughable and absurd. If you would like, I could link to and endless stream of major American government, legal, university and media sources that make use of the term "Middle Eastern American." Do I REALLY have to do that, now? I mean, do I really? The Scythian 05:27, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

- Keep While this template overlaps some others, I don't think it's wholly redundant to any of them. The template is used in a number of pages, and I don't see that it violates any policies. If you think the term is Euro-centric, then we should rename the template to something less Euro-centric rather than delete it entirely. YardsGreen (talk) 08:47, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- It is redundant, the vast majority of people in the template can be moved to other category's which are terms more used for them, some examples are the Arab American template, Asian American template, North African American template, European American template. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 20:51, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- No doubt you are right to some extent, but that raises other problems. Where would Turks, Iranians, Afghans and Central Asian Americans go? They fall under no template I am aware of, other than perhaps this and "white Americans." Do you see the problems that might arise here? The Scythian 00:48, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Turks are already in the European American template, all Arab countries are already in the Arab American template, Cyprus is in Europe so that should be in the European American template. There would be some left, but this doesn't mean that we should pick random unaffiliated people and put them together in a template using a Euro centric term that is not commonly used, just for the sake of having a template for them. An Azerbaijani has no connection to an Algerian, an Algerian has no connection to a Cypriot, a Cypriot has no connection to a Yemenite, a Yemenite has no connection to a Turk etc etc. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 12:03, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Almost all pages on the navbox have been deleted through various deletion procedures or articles were not created in the first place. Main article is nearing deletion deadline and single remaining team is also slated to be deleted via WP:PROD. Paul McDonald (talk) 16:15, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

These templates contain Greek characters with combining diacritics. Only used in one article (and associated talk page, etc.); should be subst'ed and then deleted. — This, that, and the other (talk) 00:39, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Delete. Substitute and delete, per nom. Rehman 00:32, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
I disagree since it is very awkward to write the diacritic explicitly. --kupirijo (talk) 19:45, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

- Template:Glagolitsa (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Unused. Unicode characters can now be used instead of the low-quality GIF images this image references. — This, that, and the other (talk) 02:42, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Delete, although the nom uses the wrong reason. Glagolitic alphabet is a historic and rarely used script, and very few fonts represent them by Unicode. We still need the graphic files to show the character. The good reason for deleting is: unused, it is only an unessential filename-constructing template. -DePiep (talk) 15:46, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

This navbox is unnecessary. Assistant coaches who have never been head coaches are rarely notable, and anyone who wants to know the current slew of coaches for Auburn can go to Auburn Tigers football. Plus it's the only template of its kind in WP:CFB and is more fandom than anything. Jrcla2 (talk) 02:29, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Delete aside from the potential lack of notability of each individual coach (which I will investiage if Jrcla2 hasn't beat me to it), templates like these would be a NIGHTMARE to maintain. Coaching staffs change each year at each college at each division in the NCAA and NAIA. It's a bad road to go down and feels to me like it violates WP:NOTNEWS as well.--Paul McDonald (talk) 18:36, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Comment I haven't investigated the notability of the assistant coaches and wasn't planning to, so if you want to then go right ahead. Jrcla2 (talk) 02:03, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- Delete - If someone wants to know who the current Auburn coaching staff they should visit the current season article. And I second the notability and maintenence concerns. This would be a poor precedent. Rikster2 (talk) 15:43, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge/Delete - If this content is kept, it should instead be part of Template:Auburn Tigers football. Fjbfour (talk) 16:27, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Delete - For all the reason above and i think the majority of the position coaches should be proposed for deletion also. Zwilson14 (talk) 23:01, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Last AFD closed as "keep" since the only article it was used in, Tanbo, was at AFD. Closed as "keep pending outcome of AFD". The article was deleted, so here we are. Template is now completely unused and unlikely to be. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 01:16, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Delete (obviously). The last discussion should not have been closed - it should have been relisted (or simply left open) considering the circumstances (or closed as "delete if the article is deleted, if not keep"). Speedy G8? Mhiji 02:02, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
