Etymology

First attested in the Worin seokbo (月印釋譜 / 월인석보), 1459, as Middle Korean 밧ᄇᆞ다 (Yale: pàspò-tá), from (pach-, to be busy) + ᄇᆞ (-po, adjective-deriving suffix).
