[edit]It has been formed as a suffix since the beginning of the 20th century from опрокидо́н (oprokidón), with simplification from опрокидо́нт (oprokidónt), from опроки́д(ывать) (oprokíd(yvatʹ)) + Ancient Greek -ων (-ōn). It is first found in the works of Nikolai Leskov, Anton Chekhov and Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin. In the future, words also appear related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages, for example, выпиво́н (vypivón) and закусо́н (zakusón).
