- (usually uncountable) paper (material)
- (usually uncountable) wrapping made of paper or a similar material, e.g. with foodstuffs
- (countable) a sheet of paper
- Synonym: Blatt
- (chiefly in the plural) a document or proof, especially short for Ausweispapier (“identity document, papers”)

- (chiefly in the plural, finance, stock market) Short for Wertpapier (“security”).
Usage notes
[edit]- (sheet of paper): The formal expression for this is Blatt Papier. Both of these words are also used on their own, however. Blatt is more common, particularly in the plural (Blätter).
