British slang for "party"?

- Not really. I don't think tweets meet our CFI. SemperBlotto 20:11, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
- I was thinking that usage of the slang term wasn't limited to Twitter. I've never heard it used in that way before though, so I don't know. --334a 20:11, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's like saying "let's riot". Doesn't specifically mean partying, just suggests wild behaviour. Equinox ◑ 20:12, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Slang for sex?
[edit]Possible missing verb sense: to have (rough/aggressive) sex with, like ruin. (Hmm, we don't have that either.) It's in Urban Dictionary! Equinox ◑ 20:31, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

- @Equinox: Well, would you agree that if “destroy” is used for sex it is still the case that the party who, or the party a part of whom, got destroyed indulges in a recreational activity? Or that it is at least the image sold when this term is used? This is why I thought I distill the same sense from that usage, ”to exhaust duly and thus recreate” (recreate in a somewhat different meaning here than in bodybuilding if one prefers). Your definition is centered on the mode of the act though clearly the use of this word imply a particular result; I doubt it has a restriction to penetration, but the point is what is effected. - No, it's the sort of word used in a laddish jeering way: "smash" is another one, "I wouldn't mind smashing her". It's positioning the woman as a sex object, not as a loving partner. Equinox ◑ 20:19, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
