Etymology

Inherited from Russian довольно (dovolʹno).

The first vowel /o/ or /ɔ/ (spelled as aa) is probably influenced from Pomor dialect of Russian, where all three vowels in this word sound more similar to eachother, than in the common Russian pronunciation (this difference is known as Okanye). In this case, the last vowel /a/ is not from Russian pronunciation, but rather is from the common Russenorsk process of adding the a-endings into words.

The second vowel spelled as o is probably pronounced as /u/ because of Norwegian spelling rules, but might also be pronounced as /o/ (same as in the Russian word).
