I have notified both editors to stop vandalising Wiki articles, but I don't know the extent of their vandalism and how many Seereer related articles are affected. I will have to re-edit these articles by fixing their vandalims manualy as their edits were three years ago. Once I've done that, could you please protect Maad a Sinig Coumba Ndoffène Famak Diouf and the Bataille de Fandane-Thiouthioune articles? I don't know how to request article protection on French Wiki, and as you know, my French is not very good. Both of these articles are very sentive topics in the Senegambia region. As you know, Senegal and Gambia are both majority Muslim countries. Maba Diakhou was and still is regarded as a hero by the Senegambian Muslim community despite being a jihadist and slave trader. As you also know, Maba was defeated and killed in battle in 1867 when he launch jihad against Coumba Ndoffène Famak and the Seereer people of Siin. As a result, there are plenty of Maba's sympathisers taking out their anger on the Seereer community and trying to change history, by targetting Seereer related articles on Wikipedia, particularly, articles on Coumba Ndoffène Famak Diouf and the Bataille de Fandane-Thiouthioune where Maba was killed. These two articles are very sensitive. Most of the time, these people don't even add sources to support their claims but are more interested in vandalising the articles for ethnic and religious reasons. For example, Professor Martin A Klein never wrote that Coumba Ndoffène went to Joal to buy alchohol. That is false, and the editor Ndaye Ndiaye knew that. Her claim is not even supported by the source I cited when I wrote that article many years ago. Coumba Ndoffène went to Joal to exercise his sovereignty over Joal after it was taking over by France. That was the whole point of that passage in Klein's book (Islam and Imperialism in Senegal: Sine - Saloum). Therefore, I don't know why the editor would write the King went to Joal to buy alcohol! That was sheer vandalism and to smear Coumba Ndoffène Famak's name for his victory of religious leader Maba. Once I've finished re-editing all articles by removing their nonsense manually, I will notify you here. I would be immensely grateful if you could protect both Maad a Sinig Coumba Ndoffène Famak Diouf and the Bataille de Fandane-Thiouthioune articles. It would make my life much easier if you could nuke all their edits, failing that, I can redit both articles and remove their vandalisms. Also, I would like these two editors (particular Ndeye Ndiaye) blocked for vandalism and POV pushing. It is quite evident from the links above that she is not here to hlep the French Wikipedia project, but is here to push tribalism, hatred of the Seereer people, and religious bigotry. Thank you so much. I wish you all the best. Tamsier (discuter) 25 mars 2024 à 17:04 (CET) |

::Hello Ji-Elle. I have just seen the disgusting edits that Ndaye Ndiaye made on the Coumba Ndoffene article. Bonjour Ji-Elle. S'il vous plaît, aidez-moi.
Hello Ji-Elle. Apologies for writing in English. My French is not very good as you know. How are you doing? It has been a long time since I came back on Wikipedia. Happy New Year. I hope you are keeping well. I was just going through the Maad a Sinig Coumba Ndoffène Famak Diouf and the Bataille de Fandane-Thiouthioune articles, and came upon numerous vandalism of the articles by some Senegalese Wolof editors with strong anti Seereer sentiments. I really hate to call them out as Wolof, but I am certain these are Wolof POV pushers as they use the same MO when attacking Seereer articles not just on French Wiki, but also at English Wiki. For example: This editor (Utilisateur:Ndaye Ndiaye, see her talk page [1]) vandalising Seereer articles including claiming that the King of Siin Maad a Sinig Coumba Ndoffène Famak Diouf] went to Joal in 1871 to buy alcohol [2] when that is untrue and not supported by the reference which I cited in the article. She didn't even add any sources to support her nonsensical claim. I still have Martin A. Klein's book Islam and imperialism in Senegal, and various other sources, and there is no source in support of her claim. As you can see in her contribution history [3], she simply joined Wikipedia in September 2021 to go after Seereer related articles particularly the King of Siin's article Coumba Ndoffène Famak Diouf and the Bataille de Logandème - see [4]. After attacking Seereer related articles in September 2021, she never came back to Wikipedia. Also, in Coumba Ndoffène's article, she removed the link to Seereer religion article (Religion sérère) by replacing it with "Seereer Fetishism", thereby breaking the link to the Seereer religion article [5]. This is nothing more than blatant religious discrimination against the Seereer people, especially those Seereer who practice Seereer spirituality. The Seereer people have been the target of religious and ethnic persecution for centuries, and this is a now form of their anti Seereer sentiments.
Another editor (utilisateur:SeckmoR, see their talk page [6]) changing the King of Siin's - title from Maad a Sinig to "Buur Sine" [7], thereby breaking all links linking to the King's article as well as to the maad a sinig article, as evident in their edits on the Bataille de Fandane-Thiouthioune - see here [8]. This is just one of their many edits. The Maad a Sinig Coumba Ndoffène Famak Diouf's article, as well as the Maad a Sinig article already contained the alternative spelling of Maad a Sinig in Wolof e.g. "Bour Sine". It is actually the Seereer who spell it as Buur Siin, the Wolof spell it as Bour Sine. This is a blatant vandalism by some by some Wolof POV pushers with an ax to grind, targetting Seereer articles particularly Coumba Ndoffène's article whom they viewed as killing the 19th century Senegambian jihadist, slave trader, and Muslim religious leader Maba Diakhou Bâ. This editor also went after the Youssou N'Dour's article by claiming that Youssou's father was a Wolofized Seereer [9] ; the Maad a Sinig Ama Diouf Gnilane Faye Diouf article [10] ; trying to change the ethnicity of Maba Diakhou Bâ from Toucouleur to Wolof, and the titles of the Seereer kings from Seereer to Wolof [11] ; and adding unsubstantiated content to the Lat Dior's article [12]. Their full contribution history can be found here [13]. As you can see in their contribution history, they joint in August 2020, made couple of edits on the Mboro article. They didn't made any further edits until a year later in August 2021 (just around the same time as Ndaye Ndiaye, above), when they came back to target Seereer related articles.
I have notified both editors to stop vandalising Wiki articles, but I don't know the extent of their vandalism and how many Seereer related articles are affected. I will have to re-edit these articles by fixing their vandalims manualy as their edits were three years ago.
