베르나드 엘러

베르나드 엘러(Vernard Eller, 1927년 7월 11일- 2007년 6월 18일)는 미국의 평화주의자이며 형제교회 목사였다. 워싱톤주 에버렛에서 태어나 위나트체에서 자랐으며, 라 베르네 대학과 베다니 신학교를 졸업하고 노스웨스턴 대학에서 석사를 태평양 신학교(Pacific School of Religion)에서 박사학위를 받았다. The Mad Morality and Christian Anarchy: Jesus' Primacy Over the Powers을 포함하여 20여권의 책을 저술하였다. 그의 기독교 희락주의 사상은 존 파이퍼의 책 하나님을 기뻐하라(Disiring God)에서 나타난다. 존 파이퍼는 기독교인들의 신앙적 삶에서 기독교 희락주의(樂神主義), Christian hedonism)를 주장한다. 이 희락주의란 하나님은 우리가 그 안에서 가장 만족할 때 가장 영화롭게되시며 인간이 그를 즐거움으로 추구할 때 인간의 가장 깊고 영구적인 행복이 함께 온다는 사상이다.
