WikidataCon 2023 | Collaboration across boundaries | Online & Taiwan onsite conference | 28-29 October 2023
WikidataCon 2023 is a conference that took place on October 28-29, 2023, jointly organized by Wikimedia Germany and Wikimedia Taiwan that explored open data projects in East Asia. It was a gathering that brought Wikidata enthusiasts together and encouraged collaboration across boundaries, such as divergent fields of work, different cultural institutions, levels of education, research, and more.
The event was held in a hybrid format:
- An on-site event in Taipei welcomed participants from the region and broadcast sessions online.
- An online event, which included some contributions from the global Wikidata community.
- We encouraged local communities and user groups to organize autonomous on-site gathering before, during or after the event, for example as Wikidata birthday celebrations.
