Type of grant - On Wiki in Africa side, the campaign is funded by an annual grant. Some other groups are likely to use their annual support grant too. During the last year, a dozen of groups applied for a rapid grant to support that project and this is likely to be the same this year.

Hi @Afek,

Great to have SheSaid back, and happy to help set up the campaign and banner.

Like last year, we will only enable the campaign for those languages in which the banner + landing page has translations. Can you please supply me with a list of these before the expressed starting date of the campaign? I will try and create a preview of the banner for you to check out over the weekend. Hello Ciell,
Sorry for the late answer and thank you for your help.
The participating languages areː

Thanks for the list @Afek91. All of these start on Sept 1st?
Here is a preview of the banner, I tried to make it resemble the mock up above as much as I can. Please review and tell me what you think.
Meanwhile, you and the colleagues can start translations ahead of the start of the campaign here. Ciell (talk) 18:31, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also:
I am proposing the Wikipedia banner to start on Sept 2nd, because the WLM banners will also already go live on the 1st. Does that make sense to you? Ciell (talk) 18:49, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Yes all start on the 1st of september.
Okey with the banner and it all makes sence.
Cheers! Afek91 (talk) 17:36, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Great, I enabled both campaigns to start as scheduled. Ciell (talk) 16:03, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Afek,

Over the weekend I have been working to improve the SheSaid banners by shortening the participant pipeline (number of clicks they need to engage with the landing page). By creating individual campaigns and banners for all languages, the engagement is now much more direct. For this I reviewed all the languages and landing pages you have listed on the Meta page and collected them here in one overview with the information I need for the banners, and noticed that 5 languages do not have a landing page for SheSaid 2024: I have decided to not target these languages anymore, since I assume these are not really participating? No landing page means no available information for participants. For the 4 languages that I, after a month of running the translatable banner, don't have a local language version on the banner text available, they are still receiving the general banner they saw previously, but will still be send to Meta where the participant will have to look up their project manually (instead of being directed to their Wikiquote directly).

I hope this makes sense, please let me know if you have questions! Ciell (talk) 15:00, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
