Why?
[edit]Hi! Could you please explain me why you erased from the list some articles about Estonian politicians? I though that 21 March edition was the final list so the last days I' ve created in Greek language articles about items that you erased (p.e. Eenpalu). --Pavlos1988 (talk) 18:43, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Pavlos1988: Hi! Some of the lists are still too long, sorry about the confusion. :-( I trimmed the list down to the required 100 articles (at least in 8 categories, still have to check science and culture), but if the Estonians feel somewhat hard done by the list, they can undo the changes and select different ones (User:Лорд Бъмбъри checked with them beforehand if it was ok to cut down the lists in general). Your articles still count for CEE Spring, they just don't show up in the lists? Or does this pose a problem? Best, Braveheart (talk) 18:51, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
First of all thank you for the quick response! :) I'm just worried about the fact that according to Greek page about CEE only listed articles are counted, so what will happen if an article is no more part of the list? Thanks! --Pavlos1988 (talk) 19:00, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Pavlos1988: Hm, that's unfortunate - maybe @Badseed: can offer a solution for this problem? I would suggest to count everything on the original list, even for future purposes. But that might be too confusing for the local organisers? Braveheart (talk) 19:05, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
I understand but on the other hand this is confusing for me too. The last days I didn't just translated these articles from English to Greek but I also did research in order to make them as better as possible. If you check them you will see that p.e. the Greek article about Johannes Vares is much more detailed than the English one. --Pavlos1988 (talk) 19:17, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure why the Greek competition is limited to the article lists, but in my opinion all articles created using the list originally posted on March 21st should be fine. Since you're using the CEE Template anyway, the organisers should still be able to keep track, but that's up to them. Braveheart (talk) 21:01, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Pavlos1988: Can you please check with your local organisers as to how they want to deal with this problem? Braveheart (talk) 12:42, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Yeap! --Pavlos1988 (talk) 16:43, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Dear @Braveheart: We are going to include these articles by Pavlos1988 in his score. But please note that the timeline for the countries isn't mandatory and/or some contestants may have already started working on articles about, say, Armenia which is at the end of May (like Pavlos1988 did with the articles about Estonia, before it came in schedule). Changing the lists now would leave them in uncertainty and waste any preparatory research or writing/translation they have already done. Moreover there isn't a real reason to shorten the lists, since a) the inernational organizers are fine with >100 lists and b) really good, long articles for the contest are a little hard to find, even on the longer lists. So it's better not to have any more changes to the lists now. Thank you! - Badseed (talk) 00:27, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
Hello! Last year Russian users wrote all the articles from the Austrian list. Could you please add there some articles without Russian interwiki links? --Andreykor (talk) 18:28, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Andreykor: Yes, sorry for the confusion, the list is a copy of 2017, we'll change it once we know what we want to do :-) Best, Braveheart (talk) 18:59, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
CEE Bosnia and Sorbian lists
[edit]Hi! Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018/Structure/Bosnia and Herzegovina and Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018/Structure/Sorbian pages seem to be ready but not included in the todo list Template:Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018 Article Lists by Country. Why is that? Thanks. --Lomogorov (talk) 04:01, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Lomogorov: Both communities haven't established a local contest yet, so we still need to wait for them to do that :-) Best, Braveheart (talk) 08:09, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
The Community Wishlist Survey
[edit]Hi,
You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.
You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Wrong votes for AffCom
[edit]Ehm... sorry, I clicked on the wrong link apparently. Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 21:13, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Sannita: Glad you noticed it, wondered if you would be notified by my revert :-) And yes, it's a bit confusing and by the way: it's not an election, AffCom itself decides who joins. Best, Braveheart (talk) 22:01, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
Community Wishlist Survey 2020 needs translations
[edit]Hello!
I'm contacting you because you've already translated some messages for the Community Wishlist Survey. We need more translations for the 2020 edition, to create a survey that would serve as many users as we know.
The list below shows our needs by order of importance (most important first):
- The invitation sent to communities. It summarizes the process. We plan to distribute it soon on this year target wikis. The more translations we have, the better!
- The form for non-English speakers. Anyone should be able to add their wish, no matter which language they speak. Translating this short form is very important to encourage diversity and equity.
- The survey itself, where the entire process is described.
- The preload form, that provides more context on existing wishes.
Some languages are already covered (maybe by you), but some messages have been updated, and there is always some room for reviewing and polishing messages.
Thank you in advance for your help! This survey can't be successful without your assistance. :)

We invite all registered users to vote on the 2021 Community Wishlist Survey. You can vote from now until 21 December for as many different wishes as you want.
In the Survey, wishes for new and improved tools for experienced editors are collected. After the voting, we will do our best to grant your wishes. We will start with the most popular ones.
We, the Community Tech, are one of the Wikimedia Foundation teams. We create and improve editing and wiki moderation tools. What we work on is decided based on results of the Community Wishlist Survey. Once a year, you can submit wishes. After two weeks, you can vote on the ones that you're most interested in. Next, we choose wishes from the survey to work on. Some of the wishes may be granted by volunteer developers or other teams.
We are waiting for your votes. Thank you!

About templates
[edit]Hello. When you change something in a template or module, please check the result. Last time (not today) when you removed the Czech language and added others, it turned out that the Georgian language and after it all the rest shifted, as a result, instead of Georgian, we saw a list of the Armenian wiki. This prompted me to return everything to its place. I'm going to check again to make sure everything is in place. If you need help editing templates and modules, please let me know. – Mehman (WMGE) 21:37, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- Meanwhile, I removed cs and eo. – Mehman (WMGE) 21:41, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Mehman (WMGE): Thanks for removing them - still struggling to understand what the difference between your edits and mine was? Best, Braveheart (talk) 21:56, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- As I assume, you didn't make changes to the Module and Template synchronously and because of this there was a problem. All changes must go into the module and template at the same time (and the order of languages must be the same in the template and module). Also, the template had to be marked for translation, which I did. – Mehman (WMGE) 12:41, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Mehman (WMGE): I made sure that the sequence is the same, the new columns didn't show up at all. There is something odd going on here. Braveheart (talk) 12:57, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- Maybe then we should create a new module, but for the next year. – Mehman (WMGE) 16:58, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Mehman (WMGE): Could you please add cs and eo back in? Just as we thought they wouldn't take part, of course they sign up (CS only for CEE Women). BR, Braveheart (talk) 11:20, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
- Done, you can check. – Mehman (WMGE) 11:37, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Armenia is not in the CEE Timeline list
[edit]Hello, I am writing to you because you added the Timeline list․ I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Armenia is not in the CEE Timeline list. Beko (talk) 08:52, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Beko: Sorry for forgetting Armenia :-( I've added them in the third week of April :-) Best regards, Braveheart (talk) 13:07, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
