Hello, John M Wolfson. As a user I saw your vote. Special:Diff/21080877 Here can you add a template like this Special:Diff/21080878? Then, it will be easy for the system. I think it would be better if you add this. --Uncitoyentalk 17:33, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Done. Feel free to add those yourself in the future. John M Wolfson (talk) 17:37, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I have some concerns about edit to other user's votes from years. Or maybe I will inform the committee members for this situation. --Uncitoyentalk 17:40, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough, perhaps the committee should decide. John M Wolfson (talk) 17:41, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Some users may say for other users why did you edit my vote. I know this from my home wiki. Again, I thank you for your kind answers and understanding. :) --Uncitoyentalk 17:44, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Of course, and I know that editing is frowned upon on talkpages, I was just wondering given that no substantive changes occur. Have a great day! John M Wolfson (talk) 17:47, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's me again, this time to apologize

[edit]

Hello, John. I'm sorry for my accidental violation on my Wikipedia unblock restrictions, and my past mistakes that led to the first block. I have been off for a couple of weeks to think about my past actions, and why they were unfair. I don't need several years, I was already competent, I just had some problems that I couldn't handle, and it led to my block. I'm still learning from my mistakes, but this was shattered by the block. The reason for my block was:

  • A BADNAC closure
  • Signature policy violation (twice)
  • Continued disruptions despite an AN discussion
  • Breach of your agreement

The way that I will avoid these mistakes again:

  • I will only close the AFDs when it's been a few weeks and there has been a clear concensus
  • I will keep this signature
  • I actually read the policies throughout the past weeks
  • I will not drive anyone nuts

Once again, I promise to do good on Wikipedia, and I won't make another time-sink for any other administrator. When I failed your restrictions, I did it accidentally. I was trying to discuss an edit that was reverted, until you reblocked me. And I regret that I was blocked in the first place. You should have given me a warning that what I was doing was wrong. I apologize.

I will take a slow restart on Wikipedia, in order to fulfill my promise to you, and everyone on Wikipedia. We're improving!!!--JTZegers (talk) 00:29, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • No, I shouldn't have given you such a warning; I don't doubt that your violation was accidental, but you should have known your restrictions and that they were zero-tolerance. And while you are a good person, your edits have shown that you are not in fact competent for Wikipedia's purposes, at least not at this current time. I assume you are a child; while there's nothing wrong with that, everyone on Wikipedia has to act like a grown-up, and while mistakes are of course permissible you have to own up to them, and I don't see you doing that with appropriate sincerity. I appreciate your enthusiasm for the project and your willingness to undergo "rehab", but it is not the purpose of Wikipedia or its admins to babysit you while you keep messing up, especially since your initial unblock was the rehab; besides, having looked at your e-mail(?) to Billinghurst, it appears you have deep misunderstandings and misconceptions of Wikipedia's purpose and policies(indeed, you never technically violated the signature policy at all, and in spirit only once). In summation, I feel like you're rushing to get unblocked without really thinking about whether you really want to edit Wikipedia, and why. I'm glad that you have taken time to reflect and Billinghurst's advice, but I feel you do need at least six months before you can start the process of getting back on Wikipedia. Until then (to be more specific, 18 November 2021 UTC), and unless others really feel otherwise, please do not contact me through any Wikimedia project or e-mail.
