Open Heritage: our first wikivisit
ByOn the 13th and 20th of January we carried out for the first time an activity that we could name wikivisit. It was organized by the Free Software Office of the University of Granada and the heritage section of this university and consisted of, as first step, a guided visit to one of the buildings of the university, the old royal hospital, during which we were able to take photos.
It was builded by the Catholic Monarchs after the conquest of Granada and the works and remodelings continued during the centuries XVI-XVIII. It has several elements of important value, such as Renaissance courtyards, and it is declared as monument. Today hosts the headquarters of the university and its library.
So after the visit we went to the Center of Virtual Teachings of the University of Granada and we edited about the building. In total 19 people participated, editing five articles, four were new. The experience was very positive and there are other similar proposals to carry out in the coming months.
