Eric Lynn Wright (September 7, 1964 – March 26, 1995), known professionally as Eazy-E, was an American rapper. He was born in Compton, California. He rose to fame with the hip hop group N.W.A and is one of the founders of the "Gangsta rap" subgenre. He usually rapped about guns, drugs, relations between residents and the police, and sexual activity. He was known as the "Godfather of Gangsta Rap".[2]

In 1987, he founded Ruthless Records.[3]

Illness and death

In 1994, Eazy-E believed he had asthma, until he learned he had HIV/AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). It led to his death on March 26, 1995.[4][5]

He was buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.[6]
