Kenneth John Braithwaite II[1] (born 1960) is an American politician, businessman and military personnel. He was the 77th United States Secretary of the Navy from May 2020 to January 2021. He was the United States Ambassador to Norway from February 8, 2018 to May 29, 2020.
President Donald Trump said on November 24, 2019, that he would nominate Braithwaite to serve as the United States Secretary of the Navy.[2] His nomination was confirmed on May 29, 2020.[3]
He is a retired rear admiral of the United States Navy Reserve.[4]
He is seen as a possible candidate for the United States Senate from Pennsylvania in the 2022 election.[5]
