Vera Jacobsson (born c. 1900s) was a Swedish track and field athlete and a pioneer in women’s athletics in Sweden. She was specialized in the standing long jump and sprint events. She represented Sweden internationally.
Biography
[change | change source]Jacobsson represented Sweden at the 1926 Women's World Games in Gothenburg. With a distance of 2.28 metres she finished sixth in the standing long jump event.[1] Together with Sylvia Stave, Asta Plathino and Märta Johansson she competed in the 4 × 110 yards relay event and finished in fourth place.[2] She also competed in the 100 yards event and 250 metres event but didn’t qualify for the final.
Jacobsson's participation at Women's World Games was sponsored by women’s magazine Idun.[3]
