Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:RFCU)

CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IPs). Special users are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy.

On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.

Use of the tool

[change source]

This tool is to be used to fight vandalism, to check for sockpuppet abuse, and to limit disruption of the project. It must be used only to prevent damage to the project.

The tool should not be used for political control; to apply pressure on editors; or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to check a user. Note that alternative accounts are not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of the policies (for example, to vote more than once or to make it look like more people support an idea). Checkusers will refuse a request, if the reason for checking is not good enough to warrant the use of the tool.

Please see the CheckUser policy for all the rules related to CheckUser.

I'm listing up accounts related here. The 1st and 3rd user have spam-username blocks, etc, and they are related to the main article (Sna Educa). The 4th user uploaded File:Sna Educa.png in Commons, and using this at Liceo Bicentenario Agrícola Marta Martínez Cruz. I will also list up the 5th user that was recently blocked and have a similar username that comes from the same Chilean city. The 5th and 6th user are related at Special:Diff/9769509. Category/template creators around Arabic/LGBT/Pakistani topics

[change source]

I request CU-comparison between category/template creators around Arabic/LGBT/Pakistani topics. The 1st user is already blocked. The 2nd user is CU-blocked by user:Fr33kman (Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#BottleOfSoup), the 3rd user is blocked per enwiki SPI results (w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Irtapil/Archive#23_June_2024). I will list up the similarities and overlaps that I noticed.

The 2nd user (BottleOfSoup, BoS) previously made Category:Gaza Strip templates (special:redirect/logid/2693442). When I see the categorized templates, Template:Gaza blockade, Template:Gaza Strip navbox, and Template:Gaza Strip map is made by the 4th user (LagoonGoose, LG). This suggests that the 4th user is continuing the works of the previous users.

(Usage of userspace) Also, as PDL pointed out in the previous CU request, the 1st and 2nd user prefers to work in the userspace. This trend is also seen in the 4th user (LagoonGoose, LG, userspace edits) since their return in August after a 3-month Wikibreak. Please note that the user was already familiar to use their userspace and content translation tools since their registration and return.

(Categorization involvements) The 1st user was originally blocked per categorizations issues (deleted categories), and then the block was extended per previous CU results.

(Language preferences and related interests) As seen in the creation of w:Template:User en-gb-n, w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Irtapil/Archive#23_June_2024, and the previous edits, the 1st user's langauge preferences and related interests include en-GB, Arabic, and Australia. When I see the 4th user, they made translations of Arabic content (including User:LagoonGoose/Australian Representative Office in Ramallah), also made page moves to change titles in British English (for example, see special:redirect/logid/2816294, organization -> organisation, also see move log). The usage of "organisation" can also be seen in w:User_talk:Irtapil/Archive_1#article_translation_request_ru:_Альянс_врачей.

(Topic overlaps) Both the 1st and 4th user are the most prolific editors in the area of the Middle East (especially Israel and Palestine) in this project. Other topic overlaps are listed as below:

I look forward to hearing from the CUs. MathXplore (talk) 07:12, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dhadhor accounts again

[change source]

After the previous CU request (Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Dhadhor_accounts) and content dispute, another account (2nd user) has joined the conflict.

The 3rd-5th users are already blocked in the previous request (by user:Bsadowski1) and w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rao Devilal Pratap.

The previous conflict was between the 1st and 3rd-5th users versus an IP range where the involvement of the 6th user is estimated. Please see the block log and related records of the 6th user (special:redirect/logid/2765016, w:special:redirect/logid/163138137, w:special:permalink/1234083914#Question_about_special:redirect/logid/163138137) and here/

The relation between the 6th and 7th user is explained in w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/R2dra.

Please note that the 2nd user aimed to restore previously removed statements in the intro (Dhadhor is ... Ahir or Yadav), please compare special:diff/9758784, special:diff/9585825, and special:diff/9575519 for example.

The 1st and 3rd-5th users are working to do the opposite of the above actions (removing the statement: "Dhadhor is ... Ahir or Yadav" and relevant references, see special:diff/9765543 and special:diff/9580657). Also, I have previously pointed out that the 3rd-5th users are using similar edit summaries as one of our former admins in Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Dhadhor_accounts. Please note that the 1st user started using the same kind of edit summary (please compare special:diff/9765543, special:diff/9580657, and special:diff/9570001). Recent problematic cross-namespace pagemovers

[change source]

I would like to note that several users are moving non-userpages to userspace with similar tone (complicated language that may not make sense) and vice versa. The 2nd user has WP:ONESTRIKE for this reason. In w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Krishan avatar, an editor pointed out similarities between the 1st and 3rd user (who is equal to the 4th-11th user, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Behgal_Jats_accounts, Special:Diff/9737930, w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Truthfindervert, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Truthfindervert/Khalsajudicary). Both the 1st and 3rd user has interests in similar South Asian history topics, and have a history of problematic page moves (examples are explained in Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Behgal_Jats_accounts and Special:Diff/9737930). MathXplore (talk) 03:25, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please also note that the users like to move pages with semi-protection (especially the 1st and 2nd users). MathXplore (talk) 05:13, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will also add Repulsive hegemony card (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log)) for doing similar page moves against semi-protected entries. MathXplore (talk) 00:20, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Md Sunnat Ali Mollik back with new account?

[change source]

I've looked on the Facebook page of The Daily Target, found on their website of the article, and in the Facebook page I saw two user with the name Md Sunnat Ali Mollik (another one is also Md Sunnat Ali Mollik, but in Bengali letter), it proves that The Daily Target is related with the long term abuser. Also look on user:Mohona Maiti, blocked for the same reason. Return of Sockpuppet

[change source]

The suspect, AlvaKedak is an sockpuppet of users which I had already reported here Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser#Personal Attacks & Disruptive Edits of Socks

  • AlvaKedak has created his account 3 hours ago and the first articles he edited were also edited by the sockpuppet [1]
  • AlvaKedak tries to remove the same content which the blocked socks tried to remove multiple times [2] Based Kashmiri (talk) 14:48, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not a sockpuppet. I used to edit without an account (I am the IP user who created the Rashrakuta Empire Page), I made an account specifically so I could talk to @Based Kashmiri about the Pala Empire map and then from then on started editing using this account (there is a glitch that sometimes logs me out while I am in the middle of editing, I mentioned this in my user page).
I tried to remove that damned map because it was inaccurate, if you added it to the Regular Wikipedia page, it would be removed instantly and for good reason. I just want to preserve the integrity of this site.
Is this enough to clear my name, or do you need more proof ? Also "a sockpuppet" not "an sockpuppet", get that right at least. AlvaKedak (talk) 14:20, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You still have not given a single reliable source which says that map (which is based on Oxford & Archeological Sources) is inaccurate, Even in the discussion at the talk page you failed to prove it.
“I tried to remove that damned map because it was inaccurate, if you added it to the Regular Wikipedia page, it would be removed instantly and for good reason. I just want to preserve the integrity of this site.”
I'm not replying this because you're being agnorant atp, see Wikipedia:Researching with Wikipedia. Based Kashmiri (talk) 18:13, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will discuss the map later.
But has my name been cleared at least ? AlvaKedak (talk) 21:22, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Based Kashmiri still hasn't responded for for the past three days. I assume this either means that the sockpuppet allegations against me have been resolved, or they are busy with other things. AlvaKedak (talk) 19:54, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The user did however did state in the Commons: Deletion Request page for the map they created, that I am a long term sockpuppet who has been personal attacking them and creating disruptive edits in multiple wiki projects, I want to make it clear that these claims are entirely false. While I am not fully familiar with the entire situation, I did see that there are four other users listed below me, who I assume may have engaged in sockpuppetry and personally disliked this user. I would like to clarify that I am not associated with any of them. I have no personal animosity toward @Based Kashmiri; I simply have disagreements with them on the map that's all. AlvaKedak (talk) 19:57, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can find no evidence to suggest that the user is engaging in sockpuppetry. Our database shows nothing. fr33kman 20:03, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well that's the end of that. Thank you @Fr33kman for looking into this situation.
And while I do disagree with @Based Kashmiri on the map, I do think it's unfortunate that the user has received personal attacks for reporting actual sockpuppetry, I hope they're doing alright. AlvaKedak (talk) 17:43, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppets (Caste-based)

[change source]

Caste-based socks as evidenced by the recent creation of these accounts and the fact that one their first major contributions was towards obscure articles relating to Rajput (another magnet for caste disruptors both here and on enwiki) as seen here and here (notice the ready familiarity with wiki markup and these are globally new accounts not active on other wikis). All three accounts have concentrated on a non-notable BLP of a musician, originally created under the title Alireza Jadidi. They have no contributions outside of this topic. The first and second accounts created the articles Alireza Jadidi (Logs) and Alireza-Jadidi (Logs), respectively. The 1st user is named after Seongjo (possible hoax from the Korean Peninsula), which is suspected as hoax and the author is estimated as pretending to be a king (Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2024/Seongjo), and this intent is same as Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive21#Muhammad_Luqman_accounts. The 1st user made Kingdom of Ganghwa (claimed micronation in the Korean Peninsula), which involves the combination of English/Malay/Korean, and this combination is very unusual in general but common when handling Muhammad Luqman CU cases. This trend can also be seen in the 2nd/3rd user and w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Lh1011/Archive#27_July_2024 (corresponding enwiki SPI case). Please also note that micronations in the Korean Peninsula is very popular to these types of accounts. MathXplore (talk) 10:28, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

HM King Seongjo is not related via CU data but the browser data and editing actions scream duck to me. fr33kman 13:19, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Administrator note: The user is locked. MathXplore (talk) 12:05, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ayesha Shanediwan accounts

[change source]

Please note that 2 users are writing about a same subject with same birthday in their userpage, and the 1st user's account name is named after the subject. MathXplore (talk) 02:09, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Confirmed, both blocked. Vermont (🐿️🏳️‍🌈) 03:12, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to note that we have many new accounts around this subject. The 1st user is the author of the article. 2nd user has edits only at the article and Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2024/Occams Advisory. The 3rd and 4th user also appeared at the RFD despite low edit counts. MathXplore (talk) 03:17, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that the author of w:Draft:Occams Advisory is Special:CentralAuth/Tikinalo, who is blocked at enwiki per w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/TheCaseOfGoliath/Archive#05_June_2024 (TCoG). Please note that TCoG includes the following simplewiki registered users:
Any accounts confirmed with Dakith (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log)) should be reported to m:SRG. MathXplore (talk) 12:45, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
LexyNight and Bolulol are the same user. fr33kman 14:05, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to note that several users including a blocked user is around the (re)creation of this article. The 1st user is the initial recreator, the 2nd user recreated and already CU-blocked by user:Fr33kman, and the 3rd user is the latest creator. Can this be block evasion ? MathXplore (talk) 04:18, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say yes, but the 3rd user isnt related via CU. But it has the same browser data so I'd say it's the same person. fr33kman 12:51, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's Dolo again so I'm going to block it. fr33kman 12:59, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The 1st user who is suspected in w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Truthfindervert has used account vanishing to delay SPI actions. After the vanish, the 2nd user has appeared with a similar name as the 1st user. User name hard block has been applied to the 2nd user per w:Wikipedia:Username_policy#Misleading_usernames. Once confirmed, please switch the block mode to CU-block mode.

universitychalo.com accounts

[change source]

I have found that these users were using the same domain as part of their userpage profile (all deleted per QD G11). Can they be related? MathXplore (talk) 12:15, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please also note that all of them made their userpage in the same timing. MathXplore (talk) 12:16, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Confirmed, blocked fr33kman 23:40, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is based on Special:Diff/9734315. The 1st user made Praveen Kenneth with the help of the 2nd user, and the 3rd user has recreated this as Praveen K. James. Please note that both the 1st and 3rd user tends to blame people tagging QD as a vandal. MathXplore (talk) 13:49, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed, along with ~30 other accounts (now blocked + locked). Thanks for the report MathXplore, turned out to be a pretty big sock farm. Vermont (🐿️🏳️‍🌈) 03:05, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We have 2 users here. The first user is the author of Sam Adedoyin, and the 2nd user is only editing for RFDs including this one. MathXplore (talk) 03:03, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Technically unrelated. Seems like UPE, but not enough to go off of. Vermont (🐿️🏳️‍🌈) 02:00, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tom bahi

[change source]

The 1st user (Tom bahi, TB) is locked as xwiki linkspam. I have reverted many of their edits including here and itwiki. After the lock of the 1st user, Zaman digiaventus (2nd user, ZD) appeared on the abuse filter. I have reverted TB's link addition to itwiki (it:special:diff/140825162), then ZD has reverted the edit and restored the link (it:special:diff/140826040). How does ZD know about TB? Can they be related? Please also note that both make similar tiny edits (w:special:diff/1233626912, w:special:diff/1242561352, they might be aiming to gain edit counts for auto-confirmation). MathXplore (talk) 02:20, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have contacted an itwiki CU for this case (it:special:diff/140834715). MathXplore (talk) 03:12, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The user is confirmed via itwiki CU. MathXplore (talk) 05:59, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would also like to note that Andrew Tattoo1 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log)) is using a same link (tattoorecover.com) at Sleeve tattoo (special:diff/9740039) just like TB used here (special:diff/9673265). MathXplore (talk) 02:58, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Both user started editing a non-notable article, proposed for RFD. Both their names are the same.  Looks like a duck to me--Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 07:45, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet Editing With IP

[change source]

The sockpuppet who was personal attacking me [3] is back with a IP and started making disruptive edits again. If their IPs are different then they are either using a VPN or are meatpuppets.

I assume that the 1st and 2nd users are related to each other via the overlap at Ghlagatin. The 1st user is named after Ghana Music Awards USA and they were working hard on w:Draft:Ghana_Music_Awards_USA. The 3rd user was working hard on Ghana Music Awards USA. Can the 3rd user be related to the others? MathXplore (talk) 14:44, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I checked all four, there's no direct overlap of addresses. What I do see though, that of the four IP4 numbers, at least 2 match (giving 65k addresses to play with). In the case of GMAUSA, Impeltravels and Ghlagatin, 3 of thr 4 octets match (bringing them as close as 256 addresses). MichealBlison looks unrelated (there only 2 of the 4 octets match). Eptalon (talk) 22:13, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

After I reported user:Alan Charlotte (AC) to w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/HinduKshatrana, a new user (user:Haseeb7867, 1st user) has appeared in the south Asian content dispute.

Please have a look at the edits. MathXplore (talk) 02:42, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will also add Howlings (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log)), who made a move at Vaghela (Rajput clan) (special:redirect/logid/2795168) soon after auto-confirmation. Please note that some blocked editors did similar actions in enwiki (w:special:diff/1230744707, etc.). In addition, some users have pointed out that this is similar to Sarcastic_kshatriya (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log)) ($arcastic kshatriya (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log))). Recent accounts writing about obituary rumours

[change source]

We have some new users writing about obituary rumours by removing existing references and converting articles to a BLP. The 1st user is blocked as WP:ONESTRIKE, 2nd user is blocked per behavior overlap. The 3rd user is working on a different article, but they are using similar edit summaries ("info/details about health", etc.). MathXplore (talk) 05:20, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The 1st and 2nd user was working on Alan Turing, the 3rd is at Heath Ledger. All of them aim to change the "Death" section to a "Rumours about death" section, and they conclude them as alive without any references. MathXplore (talk) 05:22, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
AnnaTuring and Annabernerslee use the same IP address; I have blocked them. This means that all three are now blocked. Eptalon (talk) 08:16, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to note that there are several users around this article which soft deletion and creation has been repeated. The 3rd user is the author of w:Draft:Almal Real Estate Development, where UPE is concerned. MathXplore (talk) 01:23, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, blocked by mistake, thx fr33kman 16:48, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

CU shws no relationship. They coule be socks but theCU doesn't show it fr33kman 07:15, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Attacks & Disruptive Edits of Socks

[change source]
  • I have already created an SPI on them on English Wikipedia and got many of their socks blocked from which they were continuously disruptiving wikipedia 1
  • I have also received multiple personal attacks from them on English Wikipedia 2, 3, 4, 5 and now they also started personal attacking me on Simple English Wikipedia 6
  • Now they have suddenly joined simple wiki to do disruptive edits on my articles and constructions I've made on simple wiki. 7, 8, 9
