Mercy

- Result: RfA successful. (17/1) Chenzw Talk 12:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there!
I want to present to the community Mercy (talk · contribs) for adminship. He’s an active vandalfighter on simple and an experienced editor. He became active here in January this year. He also is an admin on the Czech Wikipedia and furthermore an OTRS volunteer and a global rollbacker. Mercy requested about 100 QDs and has made several VIP reports. I think Mercy can be trusted with the tools. Good luck! Barras (talk) 08:43, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Candidate's acceptance: I appreciate your nomination and accept it. Hope I won't disappoint anyone with the admin tools. -- Mercy (☎|✍) 09:03, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Support
[change source]- per my nom. Barras (talk) 08:43, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Absolutely. Excellent editor who would make a great admin. Pmlinediter Talk 08:50, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support - Yes, good vandalism fighter, obviously needs the tools. Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 09:34, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Admin on a more regulated project than this therefore, in the absence of any serious worries, automatic support Soup Dish (talk) 09:46, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Laughable. Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 09:51, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Give it up, Yotcmdr. This is indeed a valid reason, the user has experience with the tools. Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 12:36, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Laughable too. Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 12:45, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Instead of taking uncivil shots at people, perhaps you can explain what you find "laughable" about their comments. Either way (talk) 12:54, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- If someone has a past at another wiki, you usually make a fuss about it, though Shappy managed to pass so it should go the other way too: If a candidate is an admin he doesn't necessarily have a good past on another wiki. Therefore, how can you give an automatic support to someone who's an admin without even considering their history here? I am sorry to say it, but I do find it a laughable reason. Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 14:25, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- It wasn't an automatic support. He said that there's an absence of "any serious worries" which means he couldn't find anything on here that was concerning. Either way (talk) 14:42, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Support Lots of work fighting vandalism and improving the wiki. I don't see anything concerning in this users past. EhJJTALK 21:09, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Lots of great work on the wiki, great vandal fighter, has experience elsewhere, therefore a net positive. But one thing worries me, not enough edits in the MediaWiki: namespace... so I must Oppose. ;). Goblin 16:53, 17 June 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Kennedy![reply]

Oppose
[change source]- Weak oppose Not enough edits in Wikipedia:Namespace.--Masha Ashner (talk) 14:59, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- How many edits would you like to see in the "Wikipedia" namespace? Are you stating, that you do not think Mercy discusses enough, or participates in other projects on this site? Please clarify. Cheers! NonvocalScream (talk) 15:01, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, he have 613 edits in article space and 590 edits in user talk space!--Masha Ashner (talk) 15:12, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I see. I don't see that many contributions to Simple Talk, or the Administrators noticeboard... is that what your looking for? Best! NonvocalScream (talk) 15:14, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd like to see some more edits to main name space from voters. 'crat note: User has only a few edits, most to an other RfA --Barras (talk) 15:15, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comments
[change source]- An excellent editor and valued. You devote alot of work to the project, and for that I want to extend thanks. Without volunteers like yourself, this project would not move along. And we need this volunteerism in order to produce this encyclopedia. Your doing good. I have pulled your last 5,000 contributions in the :Talk areas. I don't see many contributions in the talk pages of various namespaces... so this does not indicate very much collaboration. In an administrator, discussion is always good. I would like to see more discussion/participation with the actual meta side of the project. Your doing well, and continue what you do :) Very best, and good luck, NonvocalScream (talk) 00:31, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd just like to know, have you done any significant article work here? I've looked through your contribs and I was amazed by all the reverting and warning! But just want to know this before I vote. Thanks, Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 09:13, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Plzeň, Pardubice, Kyjov. Barras (talk) 09:18, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm rather a vandal fighter than an article creator. That's why I only create stubs like those Barras mentioned above. In the recent time, I created for example Drum and bass or Amorgos. If I have time in Summer, I'd like to create the Simple English version of my article on Ancient Roman painting which is a GA on the Czech Wikipedia. -- Mercy (☎|✍) 09:24, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Don't worry, I've mostly written stubs (hasn't stopped me from becoming a sysop) even though I've done a little article work. Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 09:34, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
