- Bludgeon's new army is a Decepticon project from the Marvel portion portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
After the Decepticons' painful defeat on Klo, they disappeared into the vastness of space for the time needed to recover. When they returned, it was in a mobile fortress called the Warworld, made from materials and technology stolen and scavenged together from whichever unfortunate alien crossed their path. Aboard the vessel were also eight Transformer bodies, built with the new technology acquired. These were to become Bludgeon's new army: the additional, more powerful troops Bludgeon needed to get back at the Autobots. However, Megatron forcefully took over the project, bringing the new army to life as the Laser Rods and the Rotor Force.

Notes
- When Bludgeon's new army is first shown in one of the panels of "Old Evils", the units look nothing like the Laser Rods or the Rotor Force. If anything, they appear lightly based on Bludgeon's own Pretender shell's looks. The next time the army appears, it is when Swindle shows it to Megatron in "Tales of Earth Part Three", and by then its units have already gained Laser Rod and Rotor Force bodies. All this considered, the "Old Evils"-design likely was an artist or communication screwup. Shame, really.
