LOL!

Darksteel is one easily amused Predacon. Whether it's surprising Autobots, whacking Skylynx over the head with a bone, or thinking about the gutting of other Cybertronians, you can bet that Darksteel's going to laugh it up. At least he can stop joking long enough to scrap some Autobots.

Can't tell whether he's about to attack or burst out in laughter.

Following his return to Cybertron, Shockwave succeeded in bringing two new clones, Darksteel and Skylynx, online. The pair were put to work searching for more Predacon remains to continue the cloning experiments. It was while they were searching in what was once the Sea of Rust that they were happened upon by Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen. They attacked the pair, and Darksteel tossed Smokescreen around until the Autobot managed to use his phase shifter to escape. Victorious, the two Predacons returned to Shockwave's lab, only to find Starscream less than happy that they'd revealed themselves to the Autobots.

More searching for fossils ensued, and the pair struck gold when they discovered a Predacon burial ground. While they were collecting up the bones, Unicron arrived to raise an army of undead Predacons. Skylynx and Darksteel attacked him, only to prove no match for the dark god. They were later found there by Predaking, who swiftly asserted his leadership in combat, and led the pair into battle to assist the Autobots in fighting Unicron's horde of undead Predacons. They were successful in slowing the horde down long enough for Optimus Prime to defeat Unicron, causing the Terrorcons to disintegrate. The trio later tracked down Starscream, intending to exact some revenge. Predacons Rising

Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising Darksteel is a redeco of Prime: Beast Hunters Grimwing. He transforms into an ursagryph covered with an assortment of Cyberglyphics, and comes with a bird-headed grapple launcher which can launch the claw missile in its mouth via pressure-launch, with the missile being tied to the launcher with a length of string. Both the launcher and his missile can mount/be held by Darksteel via 5 mm post, with Darksteel featuring ports on his hands, forearms, and back.
As an undocumented feature, the U-shaped parts on his shoulders are separate pieces that can be pulled out to be used as weapons held via their 5mm handles.
Similar to the other Predacons Rising figures, Darksteel was made available as a Target exclusive in the United States, Canada, and even Australia, as a Tesco exclusive in the United Kingdom, as a Carrefour exclusive in France, and as a Ripley exclusive in Chile. This sculpt was retooled into Go! Budora.
