Built beneath the Malto family farm, the "dugout" serves as the primary base and residence for the new Transformers species; the Terrans.

With the advent of Nightshade, Hashtag, and Jawbreaker joining the Malto family, the previous simple barn that housed Twitch and Thrash proved too small to accommodate the newer, much larger Terrans. Nightshade, finding this inadequate as space for learning and living, set about secretly working on building a new housing location rather than trying to find an alternate mode. They inadvertently recruited their big brother Thrash to assist, even though Thrash had no idea what Nightshade was actually working on. When Twitch, Hashtag, and Bumblebee returned from a mishap with G.H.O.S.T., Nightshade finally introduced their family to the new base they had been working on all day. All suitably impressed, Hashtag used her new found abilities granted by her alt-mode to setup the base's wi-fi. Hashtag: Oops

When Agent Schloder arrived at the Malto homestead on the hunt for Bumblebee, the dugout went into emergency lockdown mode, sealing the Terrans inside. Nightshade and Hashtag explained that they had set it up to automatically initiate should any G.H.O.S.T. vehicle (Hashtag excluded) approach their home, and would deactivate 10 minutes after the threat leaves. Unfortunately, the two had accidentally set the timer for 10 hours instead, leaving them all trapped for most of the day and unable to aid Bumblebee in his attempts to flee G.H.O.S.T. Security Protocols
