Old Cool

Old Cool is a member of the Arcade Renegades from BotBots.

"That's right, 4 shades of gray, in a 2x2 character block, that's all we had..."

Old Cool just doesn't get the kids today and their newfangled video games that hold your hand and let you save your progress. Back in his day, a single token would give you three lives before throwing you to the virtual wolves, and that's all anybody needed! Yes sir, back then, you got quarter after quarter munched just trying to beat Level 3, and you liked it!

Part of the third series of BotBots, Old Cool transforms into a retro arcade cabinet.

He is available in all iterations of the "Arcade Renegades Surprise" 16-pack; all eight new-mold Bots (of which Old Cool is one) are displayed in the window portion of the packaging, with the redecos of prior molds in the eight blindpacked bubbles. The blindpacked contents vary, with six known "packouts": one has the remaining eight Arcade Renegades, while the other five have four Renegades and four Bots from -inexplicably- Series 1. A tiny number printed on the back next to Sweet Cheat in the mural tells you the contents of those blindpack bubbles: the number you want is 6, which is the all-Renegade set.

This mold was also used to make Outta Order and Steer'd Wrong.

• Old Cool's screen shows a pair of BotBots... or at least, early concept-art linework of them. Angry Cheese is on the left, while the one on the right is possibly Nrjeez?
