Rosanna (KP)

Rosanna is an Autobot Mini-Cassette from the Kiss Players portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

All I wanna do when I wake up in the morning is see your eyes.

Hand-picked by Blaster to join his team of cassettes, Rosanna (ロザンナ) is one of the few Autobots who can both sing and dance, and the only one who fully understands Blaster's love of music. As a pop idol, her songs soothe, comfort and embolden her fellow warriors, aided by fully-automatic microphones that can pick up her voice from hundreds of miles away in the middle of a battlefield. Her experiences as a cassette-bot have transformed her from sensitive and shy into an exuberant positive thinker. She tends to butt in on disagreements between other Transformers, but generally makes things worse with her awkward attempts to mediate. She constantly examines herself with a hand mirror to make sure she looks her best. She is probably very annoying in person.

Rosanna transforms into a micro-cassette. Her recording capacity in this mode is barely-used, and what little has been encoded is mostly memories of favorite moments with friends.^[1]

She likes to dance the Robot Monkey.

Rosanna and her cassette companions appeared on the orbiting base Nana, much to the delight of Teletraan 15, though Teletraan 10 was less than thrilled at the noise they made. But until the Earth's anti-electron field was removed, they were there to stay. Kiss Players Position Volume

After the EDC's anti-electron field was removed in 2007, Transformers were once again able to visit the planet Earth. Rosanna, who had waited impatiently on Earth's Moonbase, could at last realize her dream: forming a singing idol group to entertain humanity!

Together with the cassette Transformers Glit and Sundor and the humans Marissa Faireborn, Shaoshao Li, and Atari Hitotonari, Rosanna performed in a world tour as a member of the group "Kiss Players". At their Brave Maximus Fortress concert, a trio of mysterious Sparkbots suddenly appeared, claiming to be servants of Primus, and told the three humans to kiss them. When they did, the humans and Brave were transported away through time, leaving the three cassettes behind... Kiss Players #39

After the disappearance of their human allies, the trio returned to Metroplex in Scramble City. Rosanna wasn't taking the disappearance well, until Ultra Magnus gave the three a new assignment. Sparkbots Volume 2 Somehow, the trio stowed away inside Teletraan 15's uniform, and when she was imprisoned by the "Black Panther Man" for destroying sensitive data, they revealed themselves and freed her. As 15 destroyed the disk containing the data she'd collected on her journeys through time and space, the cassettes fought off the panther, Rosanna trying a flying tackle to the cat's midsection. It didn't go too well for them. 10 Volume

With all the data collected destroyed, the Black Panther Man's plans were ruined, though he had a grudging respect for his subordinates for having stopped him. To that end, rather than destroying them all, he simply dumped the Teletraans and cassettes out of his ship, back on Nana, and left. 15 Volume: The Last Part 15 Go! Go!

Legends comic

Rosanna was among the heroic female Transformers who appeared in one of Tigatron's dreams to protect him from the evil female Transformers. Bonus Edition Vol. 11

In 2021, the actual Rosanna traveled to the Legends World where Blaster released her and the other cassettes from their service to him, telling them to make their own happiness. Resuming her idol career, Rosanna became very popular in this universe, to the chagrin of Blaster himself whose musical career was much less successful. Following Blaster's defeat of Scourge, she performed in a victory concert alongside Cancer and Hardhead. Bonus Edition Vol. 27 She later witnessed Blaster's failed attempt at combating Trypticon. A redeco of the original Eject/Rewind mold, Rosanna transforms from a humanoid robot to a microcassette that can fit into the tape door of the Soundwave and Blaster toys.

She was available only in an e-HOBBY exclusive set with Glit and Sundor, which also came with a bonus music CD, released during the second week of March 2007.

This mold was also used to make Flip Sides, Solarbot, and Shattered Glass Rewind.

Notes

• Rosanna's deco was created by Lyrian, the voice actress for Kiss Players character Marissa Faireborn and for Rosanna herself. Lyrian also deco'd and named the Sparkbot Angela, as is evident from the pink, the heart, and the name. Lyrian's character set is the only one with some sort of theme to it.
• Rosanna and Flip Sides appearing in More than Meets the Eye #12 is due to Dave Reyn, who worked as a color flatter for Josh Burcham in that issue.^[2]
