Mister Stylor Man is an Autobot-allied Nebulan Headmaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Chicks dig the man with the low armor class, oh yeah.

Stylor is gorgeous. Always impeccably dressed and groomed and always in the latest style. He spends most of his time primping and polishing either Chromedome or himself, and is renowned on Nebulos for his exquisite taste and dashing good looks. Though he loves the ladies, he surprisingly doesn't have the greatest luck there, since few want to spend much time with a man who's so focused on being prettier than they are. It is suspected that Stylor volunteered for the Headmaster process simply because it was trendy at the time.

His Autobot partner Chromedome, being an inveterate academic and computer nerd, is something of a frustration to Stylor, but he does his best to bring out the big guy's cooler, more social side (which he figures MUST be in there somewhere). Chromedome in return tries to get Stylor to be a little less superficial.

Stylor's nature varies. In some universes he is an organic Nebulan; in others he is a robotic Cybertronian.

Believe it or not, Stylor's the manliest-dressed in the room.

When the Decepticons attacked Koraja's outer walls, Stylor fled into the interior of the city, while fearing that Nebulos was coming to an end. He admired the familiar Central City Park as he passed through. It was then that he saw Kord and Duros also running through the park. He followed them out of curiosity, eavesdropped on their conversation with Fortress Maximus's head, and watched their failed experiment to control the Autobots' bodies by remote control. Brainstorm then suggested integrating the Nebulans and Transformers. Stylor thought the idea was hopelessly crazy and left. Arcana, Brainstorm, and Fortress Maximus, however judged the procedure to be theoretically possible.

The Decepticons then shelled the park and destroyed it. Stylor's thoughts brought him to the designer of the park, Arcana. He figured Arcana was just the kind of weird genius type that could get the idea of Branstorm's to work. Stylor headed to Arcana's labs to find out that the process was well on the way, though they needed Nebulan volunteers. Stylor did so even though he still thought the whole situation was ridiculous. Duros thought he was too much of a dandy, but Galen vouched for him. After some discussion, he was accepted as the third candidate for the binary bonding process, and underwent the uncomfortable bio-engineering that turned him into a Headmaster. It was only after the process was done that he found out the full implications of the process meant that he was able to transform into the head of Chromedome and be in charge of controlling Chromedome's body. Upon connecting to Chromedome's body, Stylor became aware of Chromedome's entire life history, and that they could speak internally to each other.

The five Autobot Headmasters then attacked the Decepticons outside the city walls. Since two heads are better than one, the Autobots were able rout the Decepticons from the city walls. They went back into the city and transformed back into Nebulans to reassure the crowds. Stylor was enthusiastically greeted by Nebulan women he liked to party with. Stylor would later recount these events as he pitched metal-armored suits as his newest fashion statement. Broken Glass! Stylor's Story

This is why Stylor never buys "off the rack".

Stylor was with the others working on upgrading the Transformers' weapons when a group of council delegates arrived to observe them. Stylor mistakenly believed they were there to observe him, since he has been away from the Korajan social scene, but Gort corrected him on the matter. The Headmasters then received a communication from Zarak requesting help, and Stylor went with the others to rescue him from Scorponok and his stooges. But it was a trap! Zarak and his entourage had become Decepticon Headmasters and lured their heroic counterparts into an ambush. Despite Stylor and Chromedome's combined efforts to gun down their opponents, the Decepticons managed to distract the Autobots by endangering Council delegates who had followed them to the battlefield. While the Autobots were preoccupied with rescuing the civilians, the Decepticons outflanked them and cut them down with a barrage of lasers. Stylor was captured alongside his teammates. Love and Steel!

The Autobot Headmasters were held captive until Zarak, in a moment of lucidity while separated from Scorponok, freed them in order to save Nebulos from Decepticon tyranny. After a brief encounter with the newly minted Decepticon Targetmasters, the Headmasters fled and rejoined forces with the rest of the Autobots. Brothers in Armor!!

The Autobot Targetmasters were later captured, forcing Chromedome, Highbrow, Hardhead, and Brainstorm to rescue them. After winning a battle against their Decepticon counterparts, Highbrow and Chromedome were taking too long to decide what to do next, so Gort and Stylor disconnected themselves in order to discuss the matter on themselves. They decided to immediately continue with the rescue operation, despite their initial victory coming about with a suspicious ease. It turned out to be a trap after all, with the team being lured into an ambush helmed by Scoropnok. By reminding themselves that their shared ideals strengthened their bonds, the Autobots and their Nebulan teammates they were able to overpower their enemies nonetheless. Worlds Apart!

Stylor and Chromedome witnessed a duel between Fortress Maximus and Scorponok, with overall victory between the two factions at stake. However, the clash turned out to be a distraction set-up by the Decepticons to steal a fuel convertor. With it in hand, the Decepticons blasted off towards Earth, forcing the Autobots to follow. The Final Conflict

The events in this UK story differ in significant ways to the Headmasters mini-series.

Stylor left offworld with the rest of the Autobots, and as they had hoped, the Decepticons pursued them across the interstellar void. Brothers in Armor!! On their way to Earth, Stylor assisted Arcana in homing in on Goldbug's distress signal. Trial by Fire!

Chromedome appeared several times after this, but Stylor was not mentioned or featured, though any appearance of Chromedome is technically an appearance of Stylor. For the further merely-as-a-head adventures of Stylor, see Chromedome's article.

Regeneration One

Regeneration One continues from the Marvel US series, and does not include the UK stories or any subsequently published stories.
Chromedome stylor project lazarus.jpg

After Scorponok and Zarak's research was made available and success was had recombining the original Headmaster Autobots' heads with new bodies, Chromedome and Stylor took advantage of the situation and Stylor was reverse-engineered back into a regular Nebulan, and began to reintegrate back into Nebulan society. The War to End All Wars, Part 1 Chromedome had his original head reattached, and he and Stylor became the only Headmaster partners to peacefully part ways.

Stylor was one of the strategists participating in the rebellion against the Hive. The Rebirth, Part 1 When the rebels allied themselves with a group of Autobots, Stylor selected Chromedome to be his partner. He chose third from amongst the Autobot volunteers, and unlike Duros and Arcana before him did not state a reason for his choice. However, the fact that the only remaining alternative would been to bond with Highbrow may have had something to do with it. The Rebirth, Part 2

Like the rest of the Headmasters, Stylor and Chromedome returned to Cybertron from Nebulos to recover the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber from the Hive Headmasters who joined the Decepticons. When the plasma energy was unleashed on Cybertron, Stylor and the organic Nebulans were unaffected by it, allowing them to fight on while their partners were incapacitated. The Rebirth, Part 3

Legends comic

Stylor, Duros and Arcana followed Zarak to the Legends Universe, where they targeted the local versions of Chromedome, Hardhead and Brainstorm, who relied on unliving Transtectors to be Headmasters. Since their own form of Headmasters relied on the bodies being controlled separately, Stylor and the others locked the Autobots in their Transtectors and convinced them to pilot the bodies while the Nebulans formed the heads. The combination of two different types of Headmaster was powerful enough to defeat Scorponok, and the three Nebulans returned to their own universe. LGEX Headmaster Set Chapter

During a period when the Autobots on Nebulos were low on lubricant, Hot Rod dispatched Hardhead and Chromedome to search for a legendary lost lake of oil. They searched a possible valley with their Headmaster partners, but Stylor reported back with no luck. Stylor didn't appreciate the dust and dings his finish suffered during the search, but he mostly kept it to himself. When Duros returned with a clear signal on his geo-sensors, the Headmasters traced the spot. Hardhead used sonic shells as a non-inflammatory means of drilling down to the reservoir. Duros and Stylor entered the tunnel and found a vast source of oil for the Autobots to claim. Autobots Strike Oil

"Pacho, you can't talk because you lost your tongue in that cider press accident, remember?"

In a strange universe which orbited and occasionally leeched from Primax 1005.19 Gamma, Stylor was a third wheel in Chromedome and Rewind's relationship. He accompanied them on a likely off-the-record mission to recover and/or steal the memories of half a million Decepticons from the Vestigial Cortical Complex on Cybertron. To make this raid a smooth one, the trio enlisted the talents of Treadshot and Catgut, who "created" a door for them in the walls of the warehouse, though nearly killing them in the process. Stylor called the Decepticon a jerk once he was out of earshot. Timeless

Co-writer Jesse Wittenrich would later reveal his intention that Rewind was actually deceased, being projected into Chromedome's mind by Stylor. Vestigial remnants of this plot point remain in the published comic, in the form of Stylor's constant physical contact with Chromedome, and Treadshot never acknowledging Rewind. Whether this holds true in the completed comic or is merely authorial intent is an exercise left to the reader.

Stylor was a superficial socialite who was usually more concerned with his appearance than fighting. However, he would sometimes persuade his Headmaster partner Chromedome to be more social. Toys

The Transformers

G1toy Stylor.jpg
  • Chromedome (Headmaster, 1987)
Released in the fourth year of Hasbro's US The Transformers toyline (third year in Europe and in Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line), Headmaster Stylor transforms from a tiny man in high-tech armor into Chromedome's head. He can also be used as the head of any other Headmaster toy: inserting him into a Headmaster's neck socket causes a small Tech Spec meter on the larger toy's chest to display ratings for Speed, Strength and Intelligence.
When Chromedome is in vehicle mode, Stylor fits in his cockpit.
A redeco of Chromedome as Arcee was proposed during Generation 1, but never produced. Presumably, the identity of Stylor's redeco would have been Daniel Witwicky.

Timelines

Stylor has seen things.
  • Chromedome w/ Stylor (Deluxe, 2014)
  • TFSS2 number: 5
Timelines Stylor is a redeco of the Prime Arms Micron S.S. (albeit preassembled), transforming from humanoid robot to a crossbow-styled blaster. His calves and arms are assembled incorrectly, but it's simple to yank them off and swap them. As a redeco of an Arms Micron, Stylor features two 5mm posts and a single peg-hole as part of the Arms Micron gimmick, allowing him to combine with other Microns to form bigger and more ridiculous "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons".
He was only available with his larger Deluxe-sized partner Chromedome as part of the second-year Transformers Figure Subscription Service.
This mold was also used to make Jin and Burn.

Titans Return

A rare case of "Extreme Blush Syndrome"
  • Autobot Stylor & Chromedome (Deluxe Class, 2016)
Part of the second wave of Titans Return Deluxes, Stylor once again transforms from a tiny man in robot armor into Chromedome's head, and can also be used as the head of any other Titans Return Deluxe-or-larger toy. When Chromedome is in vehicle mode, Stylor fits in his cockpit.
Stylor was changed slightly from his earlier renders, as the final product has a red head instead of a brown one.
In 2017, multiple specimens were found at US retail with the TakaraTomy Legends counterpart's "Headmaster" figure (see below), complete with the different show-accurate Chromedome face sculpt, additional paint operations for the Titan Master figure itself and a black screw otherwise unique to the TakaraTomy versions.[1]

"I love you, Rewind-chan."
  • Headmaster Set (Multipack, 2017)
Released as a Wonder Festival 2017 [Winter] exclusive, this Chromedome is a redeco of the aforementioned Hasbro Titans Return head tooling, featuring more extensive paint applications. The pack-in mini-manga depicts this toy as Stylor from "The Rebirth".
The set also came with Grimlock, Gong, Hardhead, Flywheel, and Brainstorm, all similarly-extra-deco'd versions of Hasbro Titan Masters which were not otherwise released in Japan.

Retro Headmasters

TF-Generations-Retro-Headmasters-Chromedome.jpg
  • Chromedome (Deluxe Class, 2020)
Released as part of the Retro Headmasters line, Stylor is a redeco of the Legends Chromedome head (itself a retool of Titans Return Stylor), using that release's original-toy/anime-accurate faceplate. While the bigger toys in this series are decoed to better resemble their original toys (in theory, at least), Stylor himself ends up less accurate to his original iteration, with a tan body and dark red limbs thanks to gang-molding.
Along with the rest of the Retro Headmasters toys, Chromedome is a Walmart exclusive in Canada and the US, and was also sold exclusively at The Warehouse and Toyworld in New Zealand.

  • Autobot Stylor (2020)
    • Wave 5: Titan Masters Attack
    • Rarity: UT
    • Card Number: T05/T46
    • Stars: 2
Autobot Stylor is one of forty-six double sided character cards included in Wave 5 of the Transformers Trading Card Game, Titan Masters Attack. As a Titan Master, Stylor begins play in head mode on a character with a body mode. When that character is KO'd, Stylor is deployed in bot mode. In order to represent Stylor's size as a Titan Master, the card is the size of a battle card, about half the size of a normal character card.
The card's art is based on the Stylor Titan Master included with the Titans Return Chromedome toy. The head mode artwork is reused from said toy's packaging artwork.
This card's set was originally set for an April 2020 release, however due to the global COVID-19 pandemic the release was pushed back to May 29, 2020.
