Go-Jhiaxus

Should mention be made of the fact that a Jhiaxus-based recolor of Go-Bots Silver-Bot was in the plans for OTFCC 2003? I think it was proposed as a dinner exclusive. Anyone have more hard info?

That's pretty much it. Glen proposed it, and then Dan Khanna said no, because only #wiigii! would appreciate it. We hate Dan. --ItsWalky 03:53, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

I think this SHOULD be mentioned under an Unreleased Toys section, but I'm having trouble getting a sold citation anywhere. Like, was it mentioned at an organizer's panel? --Monzo 13:08, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Categorizing

Why is he in Category:Decepticons when it was emphasized that the Cybertronian Empire was its own standalone faction, and we treat them as such at Cybertronian Empire?

His RiD toy was sold as a Decepticon. --KilMichaelMcC 04:14, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
So RiD Jhiaxus is "really" a G1 multiverse character with another continuity's brand logo like Supreme Primal and not a RiD universe counterpart like the G1 and RiD Ultra Magni? --Rotty 04:19, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
From the very page you're asking about...
"Unicron abducted Jhiaxus and stripped him of his rank and power. Though he once again wears the brand of an ordinary Decepticon, he still nurses a hatred towards Autobot and Decepticon alike. They are all, of course, unevolved, inferior throw-backs. This bias forces him to work alone."
Personally, I feel that this cannot be THE same Jhiaxus as the one from the G2 comic, what with the devoured-by-Swarm and all, and is rather an alternate-universe incarnation who should have his own page, as Universe Tankor, Obsidian, and others should. -- M Sipher, who can't seem to stay logged in for more than a page. What the FUCK, wiki?
I'm in agreement with this. Let's split Jhiaxus accordingly. --Rotty 04:39, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Unicron could have just pulled his spark out from the brink of death, that's totally within his power. 85.195.123.22 22:51, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
I've actually never been clear on why those Universe guys get articles of their own, if they're supposed to be the same characters, just plucked from alternate timelines. --KilMichaelMcC 04:54, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
I believe it's because they could, by virtue of existing in 'Universe', so-exist alongside a separate version of themselves. (Like Fireflight does.) In this case however, his bio is so damn explicit that he's the G2 version that we left it in his G1 entry. (We even see him in his G2 body prior to reformatting IIRC.)
We should have a category for the Cybertronian Empire faction though. There's jsut a few characters, but there's also warships, ranks et al. -Derik 05:28, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Personally I feel that cartoon Optimus Prime cannot be the same one from the comics.
Your logic sucks Siph. They both go under the Optimus Prime (G1) entry. -Derik 05:33, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Universe also gives us a Brawn who was yanked out of the G2 comics right before he died. I hope we aren't giving him his own article! If we can put 30 disparate versions of every single other character on a single page, so long as they're from the same continuity family, why can't we have two near-identical versions of Jhiaxus? It's not like the Universe version officially got a new name, like Galvatron II. --ItsWalky 23:51, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

IDW Jhiaxus same guy???

What we know about IDW Jhiaxus: He's an ancient Autobot and theoretical strategist who invented the gestalt process. That's not really anything like the Jhiaxus from G2. The only connection I see at all is that both were created by Furman. Granted that fact suggests that there may indeed be a connection going forward, but we have zero evidence for it so far.

Actually, he predates the Autobot faction I believe, (As evidenced as Galvatron mentions him predating factions). As an aside: Is Jhiaxus shown in Spotlight Optimus? Or merely a textual reference? --Tindalos 20:44, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Jhiaxus is only name-dropped, and he predates the war. --ItsWalky 20:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Predating the Autobots is meaningless, Sunstorm and Ricochet are clones in Dreamwave but not other continuities.

I'm going to remove him from category Autobots though as it's a nonsense - he's not an Autobot in G2, IDW or as a toy Emvee 12:57, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
If IDW Jhiaxus isn't an Autobot, then Nova Prime shouldn't be listed as one, either. --Xaaron 14:37, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Technically, he kinda is, if the usual Transformers history of "Everyone are Autobots until Decepticons split off" holds up. Megatron Origin, IIRC supports this by having Autobot symbols practically everywhere, even before Megatron forms the Decepticons. --ItsWalky 14:50, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Technically, sure, but that can't be our criteria for listing categories here. Otherwise EVERY G1 Decepticon created before the war in any continuity should also be listed as an Autobot: Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Ravage, etc. --Xaaron 17:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm definitely not suggesting that. --ItsWalky 18:10, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
To be fair, the Autobots in Megatron Origin seem to be a police force, not something that encompasses everyone. Se Jhiaxus as an Autobot doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Jeep! 18:52, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
So should Galvatron be in Category: Autobots as well, since he was part of Nova Prime's crew? Also, I'm re-reading Megatron:Origin (gah! thanks a bunch!) and there *aren't* Autobot symbols everywhere. Every time they appear they're linked to Sentinel Prime's security force (and to a lesser extent, the senate) but they're not worn by everyone at all - in fact there seem to be quite a mixture of insignias and factions att play there. Calling IDW Jhiaxus an Autobot is at best speculation, and categorising him as such is, as I said before, nonsense. Emvee 20:55, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
[edited to add] From Nova Prime's page - "It's unclear of when the Autobots evolved as a faction in the IDW-verse. Clearly, by Megatron: Origin, they were a police force working for the Senate. However, it's not known for sure if they existed during Nova Prime's era; therefore, Nova may not be an Autobot." Neither Nova nor Jhiaxus sport an insignia. I'm going to remove the category *again* because it's misleading.Emvee 21:03, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

I think it should be presume-its-him-in-the-absence-of-other-information, but include a note saying we're not sure. -Derik 20:58, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Given how meticulously planned the references in the Spotlight titles have been, it's entirely likely we will have Jhiaxus in a later issue. Furman has been pretty good about not just name dropping so far, and the Ark crew are still around in some capacity.--Rosicrucian 21:06, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
He's a high ranking expansionist/supremacist who left Cybertron some time ago. What here doesn't jive with G2 Jhiaxus? Chip 00:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Forward-Swept Wings?

Jhiaxus' toy is a redeco of Jetstorm. Jetstorm has forward-swept wings in vehicle mode. The pic of his toy on this page has them swept back. Is this correct for the character? When he appeard in the Universe comic in this body, in vehicle mode, which way did his wings point? Or did he never appear in vehicle mode in this body? JW 16:07, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

Heh

Should we mention somewhere that his IDW design has holes in his crotch? ---Blackout- 03:06, 2 August 2010 (EDT)

Jhiaxus' weapons?

Could someone tell me at least 2 weapons that Jhiaxus has? I've been looking for about three hours and I haven't seen a single page that mentions him having weapons, just the two missiles on his RID Toy --Metroplex 16:53, 29 September 2011 (EDT)

Jhiaxus only had one toy and I don't recall him ever using a weapon in the comics. So... what weapons are you looking for? Geewunling 17:04, 29 September 2011 (EDT)

Which Jhiaxus is in "A Flash Forward"?

How can Jhiaxus in "A Flash Forward" have a body-type that would not exists until thousands of years later in the Beast Era? The only way that would work is if this Jhiaxus is the same one from the Universe War which is the original one given a new body for his Spark. But the Fun Pub story acts as if this Jhiaxus been around forever in the Wings/G1 Cartoon timeline. Also in the "Theft of the Golden Disk" which takes place during the Beast Era we see a statue of Jhiaxus in his original Generation 2 body which loosely fits within the G1 Cartoon timeline. Yeah, I know the real world story is that Fun Pub are just trying to sell toys but which Jhiaxus is this? 76.202.13.250 03:27, 1 June 2012 (EDT) More-G1

He is "Wings Universe" Jhiaxus. This is presumably an already existing body type in the Wings Universe, which is a copy of G1 cartoon with subtle modifications. --abates 03:53, 1 June 2012 (EDT)
I see and that's the bad part about this whole thing, I love the continuation of the story-line but it is weak when the majority of the time it is like it was years ago. Just to sell a toy you modify continuity to get away with it. 76.202.13.250 04:03, 1 June 2012 (EDT)More-G1
Well, the writer is just trying to "cash in" on the popularity of Axiom Nexus and SG stories where older toys were repurposed. He's just not giving it as much thought... --Detour 04:29, 1 June 2012 (EDT)

One, nowhere was it said that Vehicon body-types were brand new inventions of BM Megatron. They could have been around for eons. And two, Jhiaxus is based on the Jetstorm toy, which has only a passing similarity to the Jetstorm that actually appeared in Beast Machines. --Xaaron 08:19, 1 June 2012 (EDT)

I don't have enough facepalms for this. --ItsWalky 11:54, 1 June 2012 (EDT)

RID Jhiaxus should get his own page

I think RID Jhiaxus should get his own wiki page. For one thing, we're not not sure if he and G2 Jhiaxus are the same. Although the RID version of jhiaxus does appear in the Wings Universe, but I think that's just a repurpose. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Crossblades (talkcontribs).

No, 3H had a bio that placed that toy squarely as the same G2 guy. --Giggidy (talk) 17:07, 5 August 2015 (EDT)

Labeling of RID toy

What should we say on this page about how AVP established RID Jhiaxus with the RID toy this year? Everyone reasonably associated the RID toy with G2 Jhiaxus for 12 years. Does one of the Jhiaxuses now get labeled as "repurposing" the RID toy? S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 00:37, 23 September 2015 (EDT)

Under our current system, it seems like we should have had the RID Jhiaxus page all along, and the use of the toy for G2 Jhiaxus is the repurpose. RID Jhiaxus was just such a non-entity, and its toy was repurposed so immediately that we didn't think about it. --Ascendron (talk) 00:43, 23 September 2015 (EDT)

Legacy

Given that Jhiaxus' voyager class toy Legacy toy has been confirmed, shouldn't we add it now? https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-legacy-news-bulkhead-concept-art-and-product-codes/46557/ CementB mixerB (talk) 11:57, 22 December 2021 (EST)

Not sure who JTPrime is or where these product codes are coming from. If these are unofficial leaks, it's our policy to hold off on listing them until we get official listings from Hasbro or stores or something like that. You can check out Help: Official info for more on why this is our policy -Foffy (talk) 12:22, 22 December 2021 (EST)
JTPrime is one of the more reliable leakers, but a leaker nonetheless. So yes, we wait. --Sabrblade (talk) 13:03, 22 December 2021 (EST)

Legacy toy no budge

I still saw some Legacy Jhiaxus in 2024 and throughout 2023 too throughout Singapores major toy stores. Can we say it's a shelfwarmer yet? (Also found some strat Skullgrins who fall under this category)Poliwag06 (talk) 01:53, 29 February 2024 (EST)

No. Stop. --M Sipher (talk) 02:38, 29 February 2024 (EST)
