Prior to the Treaty of the Wall, numerous attempts were made by Optimus Prime and Megatron to draft potential treaties to end the war. However, the two could never come to an agreement on the terms, and these peace talks would ultimately fall apart each time. Parley

Following the Quintesson invasion of Cybertron, Megatron ordered that the planet be equally divided into Autobot and Decepticon territory, with a large laser wall erected to divide the two halves of the planet. The End Of The Universe IV Unbeknownst to the Autobots, the border wall doubled as a protective shield around the Decepticon half of Cybertron, which Megatron intended to use to protect himself and his troops from the coming invasion of Megatron X and his Decepticon supersoldiers. Silent Strike However, the wall proved ineffective against the extradimensional invaders, and although they were ultimately defeated, victory came at the cost of Megatron's life. The Other One

In the aftermath of Megatron X's attack, Soundwave was named the new Decepticon leader, and he and Optimus worked together to draft the Treaty of the Wall, the terms of which they both agreed upon. The treaty received unanimous bipartisan support, with all of Cybertron gathering along the border wall to celebrate its imminent passage. A stage was erected above the wall for the event, upon which both leaders stood alongside a group of delegates from their factions. Optimus Prime gave a stirring speech at the event expressing hope for the new peacetime this treaty would bring. Moments before he could sign it, however, a team of Mercenaries led by Trypticon and Soundblaster used their time blaster to time-lock all of Cybertron, intending to ransack the planet before destroying it. However, their efforts were foiled by latecomer Grimlock and his new friends the Dinobots, who drove the Mercenaries back off the planet and reversed the time blaster's effects with help from Wheeljack. The ceremony resumed afterward, though Shadow Striker had to sign the treaty as the Decepticon representative due to the Mercenaries temporarily incapacitating Soundwave. With the treaty's signing, Optimus declared the Great War finally over, and the border wall was deactivated as bots from both sides rushed to embrace their opposites in friendship and celebration. The Immobilizers

When Megatron X's former follower Tarn launched an invasion of his own, he declared himself the new Decepticon leader and that the treaty was now nullified, ordering the Decepticons to destroy the Autobots. Though the Decepticons hesitantly followed orders at first, they eventually agreed unanimously that the treaty still stood and worked with the Autobots to defeat Tarn and his supersoldiers. With Soundwave having perished in battle and Optimus choosing to retire, Bumblebee, Hot Rod, Windblade and Shadow Striker became the new leaders of peacetime Cybertron. The Perfect Decepticon
