The teachers swap roles with the recruits to show them that learning can be fun, but their efforts backfire when they're called out on rescue.

Synopsis

A stricken plane goes down in the Amazon, though fortunately it's just a video that Heatwave is showing his students. Heatwave and Cody want to discuss rescue options, but the recruits aren't enthusiastic, and Hoist's impromptu flick book animation goes down better. Heatwave suggests if they think they know how to teach, maybe they can be the teachers for the day. First up, Hot Shot attempts to demonstrate a rescue and ends up landing flat on his face. Whirl's lecture on transforming seems to bore Heatwave and Cody, but Boulder and Blades happen by and decide to join the class.

Hoist sets up a driving course for Medix to demonstrate. As he's explaining the rules, there's a sudden downpour of rain, soaking the track, and as a result, the freshly painted signs start running. Medix becomes confused and ends up almost wiping out Tough Luck Chuck. Medix's turn has him handing out books, within which lie an exercise for the students to work out; however, class runs out before they succeed. Finally Wedge attempts to instruct the class in human first aid, but Chuck is uncooperative. His class is interrupted by the alarm — there's been a rock slide in Griffin Rock. The recruits insist on maintaining their current status as the teachers for the duration of the rescue.

With more rocks in danger of falling from the cliff, the recruits set up a detour while they secure the rocks. Enter Jerry. Insisting he can make it, Jerry drives through the detour and fails to make it, ending up with his truck stuck on a fallen tree. Heatwave suggests unconventional measures are necessary to save the situation, and with a combination of Hoist's tow lines and some ice provided by Hot Shot and Whirl, they manage to pull Jerry's truck clear. Boulder and Heatwave clear the road, and Jerry drives off. Heatwave reveals they learned what to do from the recruits' lessons.
