What We Do
The Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) is committed to producing rigorous research that advances our vision of Achieving Social, Racial, Economic, and Political Justice, local to global. We strive to conduct research in innovative ways, grounded in anti-racist and community-engaged perspectives. Our renowned faculty are experts in a range of research topics but are unified in a vision of producing research that has an impact on solving real-world problems and addressing the policies and practices that drive injustice and health disparities.
Our Approach
We advance our commitment to addressing urgent social problems by providing a range of supports to faculty and students through our four research centers. These centers represent specific areas of focus within our broader vision, that drive synergistic research to lead solutions. We provide an accelerating number of opportunities for GCSW M.S.W. and Ph.D. students to become involved and trained in state-of-the-art research techniques. Through all the work we do, we actively seek to shed light on the root causes and drivers of social injustice and engage with the community to propose paths to reduce inequality through innovative practice and policy solutions.
