WMUK members survey
Hello Philafrenzy! I know from the water cooler discussions that you are one of a number of people interested in thinking about membership recruitment/membership generally of the chapter. I am today drawing a few specific people's attention to this as something I'm going to develop in the next couple of weeks. I'll announce on the Water cooler and mailing lists but I'm flagging it up to people who have been involved with membership matters or had strong feelings about last years survey questions - both non and current members. Please do throw in some thoughts or edit the questions as they develop :-) Katherine Bavage (WMUK) (talk) 15:09, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for your help with the Members' survey

Thanks for making sure we thought really hard about what questions we asked and why, and for helping us improve the questions we did ask. I hope you will help us analyse the results and put into practice improvements for members! Katherine Bavage (WMUK) (talk) 11:50, 20 November 2013 (UTC) |
Thank you Katherine. Philafrenzy (talk) 12:28, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
Membership numbers
Hey Philafrenzy. I did say I would flag this up to you when created - Membership/numbers by status.
I will have a look at our data and see if there is an easy/workable way to look at 'Renewing' member numbers in month as well as I think that could be a useful additional thing to think about.
Also - did you see this report? I thought it may interest you - feel free to comment on the talk page. Also, if you note the final point, let me know if you would be interested in being part of looking at ways of recruiting/improving our membership offer? Thanks! - Great work Katherine. Thank you very much. Are we going to have a graph like this? I will look in more detail later. Philafrenzy (talk) 14:38, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- If anyone wants to create a graph then go for it :) I'm not going to have time to do that on a regular basis sadly. This is def why we need to get volunteers involved in analysing data and coming up with ideas based on that - we don't have enough capacity for staff to do it in a lot of detail and I don;t think hiring a member development officer is something that anyone has appetite for. Could be fun though - most orgs. I've volunteered for did membership that way and it worked pretty well! Katherine Bavage (WMUK) (talk) 15:10, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- I could write a 1000 word essay on the issues raised by those comments Katherine! Some other time... Philafrenzy (talk) 20:14, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- I've created a graph based on the new numbers - hope that's useful! I've also posted the source code for creating the graph on Commons, so anyone that has Gnuplot can update it if they want. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 20:05, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Brilliant. Philafrenzy (talk) 20:14, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
