Rue (UK)

London-based Rupert Cooklin known as ‘Rue’ is a producer whose work focuses on finding the balance between aggressive and melodic sounds for club-standard drum and bass tracks. An individual who has found their feet in discovering a modern take on technical drum and bass taking influence from future bass, dubstep, and neo-soul. Following his SoundCloud releases in 2023 of; ‘I Feel Like’, ‘Midnight Blue’, and ‘Purpose’ - Rue finds himself with an opening in the Yamatai records roster and also landing himself as a resident of the Label. Rue strives to create parallels to his life emotions to apply to the music theory and synthesis of his work. He has taken a big inspiration from producers of the likes of Klinical, Wingz, Bop and many more.
