Checksums

[edit]

What is your motivation behind adding checksums to software items? The checksum (P4092) property is only used 81 times across Wikidata and thus has very limited usefulness when querying Wikidata. Basically, I don't see the point of putting in so much work adding checksums when nobody relies on Wikidata for checksums. Am I missing something? Dexxor (talk) 17:41, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dexxor According to this page https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Special:WhatLinksHere/Property:P4092&limit=500 it is linked to 151 times. Maskingself (talk) 21:02, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How important is this issue to you? If you are willing to put the work in to go deep on this topic please consider collaborating with me on creating a Wikidata:Requests for comment. We'll connect the original creator/-s of the property, other likely interested parties and we can work on improving it and have a finished "product" that reflects both what was intended from the beginning and adapting to the current reality and what data one might need on Wikidata. Obtaining the Wikiversity learning resources count

[edit]

@Maskingself I will appreciate learning the code to obtain the Wikiversity learning resources count so I can use that dynamic number in a Wikiversity course I am developing. Thanks! Lbeaumont (talk) 12:47, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
