New family names and given names

[edit]

Hello MrKeefeJohn!

It's nice of you to create new names. Please be so kind and fill in at least these three properties, it will save the other Wikidata contributors a lot of work:

  • For names in Latin script:
  1. instance of (P31) (use "family name (Q101352)", "male given name (Q12308941)" or "female given name (Q11879590)")
  2. writing system (P282) (use "Latin script (Q8229)")
  3. native label (P1705) (use allways "mul" for the language specification; specific language specifications require a reference)

Tip: The easiest way would be to use the script from User:Bargioni, see: User:Bargioni/QuickNames

Note: Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Russian names, etc. must be created in their original script. User:Bargioni's tool is not suitable for this.

  1. instance of (P31) (use "family name (Q101352)", "male given name (Q12308941)" or "female given name (Q11879590)")
  2. writing system (P282) (use "Cyrillic script (Q8209)")
  3. native label (P1705) (use allways "mul" for the language specification; specific language specifications require a reference)

Note: The transliteration from e.g. Russian (Q7737)/Ukrainian (Q8798)/Serbian (Q9299) etc. to English (Q1860), French (Q150), German (Q188) and various other languages is different.

For more information please see this page: Wikidata:WikiProject Names/Properties.

I wish you continued happy work on Wikidata. Best regards, HarryNº2 (talk) 17:49, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong merges

[edit]

Hi MrKeefe, you've merged Palazzo ex GIL (Q27787985) with Palazzo ex GIL (Q43231240) with Palazzo ex GIL (Q59652613). Now there is a disambiguation page with a links to a Commons category and a building that is a disambiguation page. I've tried to clean up but it's too messy. --Kolja21 (talk) 15:40, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Kolja21:. Thank you. I'm checking it. Palazzo ex GIL (Q27787985) it should be already ok, both it:Palazzo dell'ex GIL and commons:Category:Palazzo_ex_GIL are disambiguation pages.MrKeefeJohn (talk) 16:17, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Palazzo ex GIL (Q43231240) it should be also ok, now it includes it:Palazzo ex GIL (L'Aquila) and Commons:Category:Palazzo_ex_GIL_(L'Aquila) MrKeefeJohn (talk) 16:20, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the fast respond. I didn't know that there are Commons categories that are disambiguation pages. --Kolja21 (talk) 16:21, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
and also Palazzo ex GIL (Q59652613) shoudl be ok, now it's a redirect to Palazzo ex GIL (Q27787985), both itmes are disambiguation pages of same topic, Q59652613 and Q27787985 Fast answer: You're welcome, I already was online ;-) Disambiguation pages in commons? A lot of them Commons:Category:Disambiguation_categories MrKeefeJohn (talk) 16:28, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bartolini

[edit]

Please stop being disruptive about this topic. The English surname page belongs on the family name item and the disambiguation page belongs on a different item. StarTrekker (talk) 15:16, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@StarTrekker: I'm not being distruptive about Bartolini (Q809483). I know what belongs to en:Bartolini_(disambiguation as I created it yesterday as well as I created commons:Category:Bartolini [1]. It was just a mistake. Anyway next time, I would appreciate a less rude message. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 15:28, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I confused and frustrated when you added the disambiguation page back to the family name item after I removed it. My appologies.StarTrekker (talk) 15:32, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
don't worry, it happens ;-) Have a nice day! MrKeefeJohn (talk) 15:34, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

After merging items that are instances of human settlement (Q486972)

[edit]

Hello! After you've merged two items please remove instance of (P31)human settlement (Q486972) if the item is also instance of frazione (Q1134686) (or any class strictly more specific than human settlement (Q486972)), like I have done here.

Also, if the resulting item has two different statements for coordinate location (P625), please remove one of them (if such a statement has no reference or it just cites Wikipedia as source), like I have done here. Horcrux (talk) 15:04, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Horcrux:. Ok, thank you. I'll do it next time. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 08:22, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I also tried to organize better in commons Commons:Category:Villages of Lipari (comune, Italy), Commons:Category:Lipari (comune, Italy) and Commons:Category:Lipari island: it was a bit complicated, now it should be a little better, but is still missing Q18466563 MrKeefeJohn (talk) 08:38, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I kindly ask you to do what above (see [2][3][4][5][6][7]). Thanks, --Horcrux (talk) 13:41, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Again: [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]. --Horcrux (talk) 16:52, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Two different palaces Cisterna

[edit]

Hi, some images you added in palazzo Cisterna (Q55087859) like this and this one seem to be in Turin (Palazzo Dal Pozzo della Cisterna (Q15131)) instead of Biella. Can you fix it, please? Patafisik (talk) 07:36, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you, fixed. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 07:38, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Natura 2000

[edit]

Please, do not merge items which are instance of Natura 2000 protected area with the geografical area (valley, mountain, river, whatever) with the same name. I'm referring to this merge. Thank you Civvì (talk) 16:15, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
