Hi! I was thinking of contributing to the GraphQL project you had been hired to work on for Wikimedia and resolving some of the things on the Workboard as I am going to be using it for another project that requires Wikidata data. I will continue to press for solutions to the bugs you found and implement a Redis cache.

I was also wondering, was it ever intended that the GraphQL endpoint could also conduct edit operations/mutations? I would like it to do this so that I can easily read and then edit Wikidata data.

I've stopped contributing here because of the notability policy so do what you want.

I don't understand why we have such a strong stance of notability on Wikidata, it prevents you from doing really interesting data related queries, but ok. For instance, wouldn't it be cool be able to query Wikidata to be able to tell you the opening and closing of all photolabs and graph that out? Well that's impossible given our notability, but I guess I don't really understand what Wikidata is for anymore.

Wouldn't it be more prudent to have a property that indicates notability rather than it's inclusion in the database to begin with (which would imply that it doesn't exist)?

you are welcomed to present your approach at Wikidata:Notability. I have rather heard that WD Notability criteria are too weak compared to other Wikiprojects, like enwiki

I've made some edits to the proposal, based on what I've seen with the mix'n'match catalog. Feel free to tweak or undo any of my edits, of course. :)

All but 20 of the ~3000 fandango ticketing IDs are present in the wikidata articles for the cinemas they index, I think.

Feel free to check on it, code up that app or finish off the last 20.

Hi. The emoji/'unicode character' 🍠 that you use for your username is associated as a Unicode character (P487) on the item sweet potato (Q37937). The reference(I added) is Wikimedia import URL (P4656) --> the permanent url to where 🍠 redirects to sweet potato in the English Wikipedia.

It was also associated previously with Roasted Sweet Potato emoji (Q55316445) until I removed it from there. I got an extra question. Do you think it is proper that this emoji/'unicode character' 🍠 is associated on 2 wikidata items? I get an error in wikidata that only 1 item can have this character. I thought it was proper that only this wikidata item has this item Roasted Sweet Potato emoji (Q55316445) but after getting my edit reverted on sweet potato (Q37937) I instead chose to add a source on the same wikidata item, which I explained in my first section.

Though I added an association between the two items so that other users, like yourself, could have an opinion of the connection between the two items. different from (P1889) --> sweet potato (Q37937)

Ok, another question. What is your opinion of making Emojipedia in wikidata as an identifier? Currently there is no Identifier in wikidata regarding emojis at all. Only the Statement regarding unicode character. Do any of these questions I raise interest you? ~~~~

You are placing links for a neighborhood on a data item for a book. This is not a match.

You have made several bad edits like this. You should check and correct your mistakes.

Your bot has made some edits recently that assign Who's On First IDs to railway stations that share their name with a neighborhood. See for example here. It would be best to have the bot check the instance of (P31) statement to make sure that it's a geographic entity - and not a railway station or other incorrect match - before adding. The problem with this record is that it is incorrect upstream. I've submitted a pull request to fix it. Unfortunately, Who's on First covers instances of venue (Q17350442), which this item is. I will add a check to ensure that the bot does not edit the same item more than once, so this shouldn't happen to this item again.

The error has happened a number of times. The bot made the same error (matching a neighborhood on Who's On First to a railway station on Wikidata) on Q5033899, Q5361212, Q7958780, Q5432066, Q3467065, Q6986546, and Q7985399 - and that's just the ones I happened to be watching. Does the bot not check that the Who's On First item and the Wikidata item are the same type?

ok, that's an interesting idea... we could map the placetypes to Wikidata items. To answer your question, no, it doesn't check, because there isn't a mapping, but I could create that (and I don't see why it couldn't live in their repo). I think that would fix the problem?
