Wikidata:Event Organizers

Event organizers on Wikidata are users who have access to extra features from the CampaignEvents extension on Wikidata. This allows them to manage their events, WikiProjects, or other on-wiki activities more easily. Event organizers who use the tools from the extension have the following abilities:

The following are recommended requirements for users to be granted event organizer rights. These criteria serve as a guideline and may evolve based on community agreement or consensus:

  • Required for all applicants:
  • Additionally, you must meet one of these requirements:
    • Experience organizing Wiki event. If you have experience organizing Wiki event, give clear examples of events you have organized or helped with, either within or outside of Wikidata. This should include links to relevant events as proof. These could be added to the "reason" section of the request template.
    • You are a Wikimedia affiliate staff member. An endorsement from your affiliate to support your application will be required.
    • You have received a Wikimedia grant for an event

If you are a WMF Official or Contractor and need this rights on Wikidata to perform your duties, the process is different. Please have a look at the WMF staff userrights policy on Office wiki[restricted access] and follow the procedure described there.   • Submit your request on the requests for permission page.
  • While there's no strict format, you may consider using the following template as a guideline for your application:
