Motivation
[edit]For the passes, there is a French-speaking reference, the Club des cent cols: https://www.centcols.org/ It's not an academic thing, it's an association but which publishes catalogs of passes, for country. In the association, there is a working group to judge the relevance of adding passes, verifying information, etc. Each pass has its registration number, typically the Col de l'Œillon its registration number is FR-42-1234 FR for France, 42 the department of the Loire, 1234 the altitude Each pass has its file there. The url of the previous pass is this: https://www.centcols.org/util/geo/visu.php?code=FR-42-1234 So the pass number is directly in the url
Each pass card gives access to a location map and some photos

Support seems like a good catalog, especially for a type of objects that often lack such identifiers (1.5 on average https://w.wiki/7JVJ ). Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 08:48, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
