Motivation
[edit]We're working on provenance for WW II paintings and this would be a good addition. Multichill (talk) 15:53, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Support Yes this looks like a very rich source. Nice b&w pics too. Jane023 (talk) 16:33, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
- Comment I don't quite understand the proposed formatter URL links - they seem to go to a search page with a number of different items displayed. Is this really an identifier? ArthurPSmith (talk) 15:47, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: it's from the 1940's so based on an old school system: Every object gets an unique ID (and probably a folder with the number on it), for example 2609/1 for The Astronomer (Q544315). Each object has one or multiple cards and photos connected to it. So that's what you get. The identifier is used a lot in other data sets (here for example) and I'm using it to interconnect different data sets.
- The folder with a number system is actually what is also used for https://rkd.nl/en/explore/images/209002 . So in The Hague at the RKD you'll find a folder in a cabinet with "209002" written on it and in it some clippings and photos. Difference is that the MCCP interface is a bit more clunky. - While having a look at Hermann Göring database I noticed links in the form https://www.dhm.de/datenbank/ccp/mu.php?no= . These redirect and look a bit cleaner so I'll use those as the formatter. Multichill (talk) 15:47, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
@Jane023, ArthurPSmith: Done created MCCP ID (P10760). Multichill (talk) 16:13, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
