Motivation
This property can be further specified by "has cause" qualifier:
- incandescent light bulb (Q47616) → service life: 1000 hours → has cause: mean time to failure (Q1915457)
- light-emitting diode (Q25504) → service life: 50.000 hours → has cause: lumen depreciation (Q51037375)

- Comment The service life of, for example, light-emitting diode (Q25504) is not caused by lumen depreciation (Q51037375). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:25, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Comment the qualifier should be determination method or standard (P459), not has cause (P828). ArthurPSmith (talk) 13:05, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
- Comment @Pigsonthewing: I'm not an expert, but I read it here, here and here. Maybe it's not the unique cause, but I'm pretty sure it's the major one.
- @ArthurPSmith: I, too, have doubts about has cause (P828) qualifier. However, mean time to failure (Q1915457) and lumen depreciation (Q51037375) don't look like methods that determine service life, but properties of the product that determine service life. The method to determine service life is usually a median or a mean. The qualifier indicate what is the major factor that affect the value of this median (or mean) --Malore (talk) 06:28, 1 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support. For the qualifiers: maybe MTTF should use criterion used (P1013)
