[edit]From Sanskrit स्नेह (sneha, “love; affection; etc”); possibly via Angkorian Old Khmer sneha (idem). Cognate with Thai เสน่หา (sà-nèe-hǎa), Lao ສະເໜ (sa nē), Modern Khmer ស្នេហ៍ (snae).
