Beast Wars: Uprising
The Monster GoBots of Gargent 984.08 Alpha were a part of the great GoBot Diaspora. Fleeing the Cataclysm which threatened their own universe, eight of them travelled across dimensions and wound up on the dystopian Cybertron of Primax 209.0 Gamma–a ruined world where the decrepit Builders ruled over their successors, the Maximals and Predacons. It was better than dying horribly, though, so the group adopted new bodies, disguised themselves as local Predacons, and started a new life as the "Antares Eight"–seemingly nothing more than another of the many mercenary gangs who roamed the slums of Proximax. The Antares Eight spent seventeen Antarean years underground, slowly building up their own powerbase and welcoming other wayward Monster GoBots into their new home. As the team began drawing up plans for overthrowing the Builders and conquering the stagnant planet, they maintained a database that kept tabs on other dimensionally-displaced Guardians and Renegades. Lio Convoy's Grand Uprising was the perfect opportunity for the Renegades, who planned to take advantage of the chaos and push their own plans into action. When Resistance bigwig Grimlock put out a bounty on the dreaded G-Virus, the Renegades cut a deal with the ex-Builder: they'd give him a sample of the virus in exchange for information on the Human Confederacy, the local galactic superpower responsible for ending the Great War. The Renegades sicced Monsterous on the Forever Vaults, overwhelmed the Micromaster guards, and retrieved a sample of the virus for the Resistance. Head Games
Armed with the knowledge that human technology had long surpassed the limits of Cybertronian and Gobotic science, the GoBots hatched a plan to lure humans to Cybertron and steal their secrets. To do this, though, they needed bait - and the Rosetta Stone, which a Decepticon had pinched from Earth three hundred years ago, would serve nicely. Vamp recruited a Maximal crook Packrat to steal the artifact and bring it to them. Creepy located a nearby trans-hyperwave caster they could use to pull off their gambit, and the GoBots moved to storm the building. While the Renegades overpowered the local Micromaster and MCSF garrison, they had a harder time fighting off Rampage, Stiletto, Overshoot, Snapper, and Buckethead, who had received warning of the GoBot attack through the Oracle. The monsters got their own back, and when Overshoot confessed to being the leader of their motley outfit Creepy executed the Maximal on the spot, forcing the survivors to retreat and leaving the GoBots with Stiletto as their prisoner.
With the hyperwave caster under their control, the GoBots executed the next phase of their plan: masquerading as "Resistance" members, they broadcast a fake hostage video that attracted the attention of human crewmembers of the Spooky Action at a Distance, thanks to the conspicuously placed Rosetta Stone in the background.
Taking Stiletto back to their base, the GoBots interrogated Stilletto, who managed to manipulate Scorp into spending a cycle in the Modifier. She then enraged Bugsie into zapping her, allowing her to play dead, escape her bonds, and kill her interrogator. When Scorp returned, Stiletto and the recently arrived Snapper – who had tailed the Monster GoBots back to their base - provided some much needed Cybertronian firepower. The Maximals escaped as the base self-destructed.
With their plans falling apart, the Monster GoBots made a desperate run to keep the Cybertronians away from the hyperwave caster; although Klaws and Hornet fell, Odd Ball and his team showed up and formed Monsterous, easily overpowering Magmatron. Monsterous seemed unstoppable... until the Constructicons momentarily put their differences with the Maximals aside and formed Devastator. The fight raged around the two titans, and when the dust had settled Devastator was triumphant. Odd Ball and the Monsterous team fled. Within the tower, Stiletto confronted Creepy, who was wielding a weaponised transmission pulse that would kill both Cybertronians and humans. Although Stiletto was able to prevent him from transmitting the pulse, she realized that the GoBot would poison the planet if he followed through on his offer to hand over the technology in question. On Overshoot's spectral orders, she killed him on the spot. In the aftermath of the battle, Klaws, the last Monster GoBot, was left unaccounted for. Cultural Appropriation
