Run-Over (BWU)

This article is about the Beast Wars: Uprising Micromaster Builder. For the Armada Mini-Con, see Run-Over (Armada).
Run-Over is a Decepticon Builder from the Beast Wars: Uprising portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

One of the many Micromasters fighting the Resistance, Run-Over is a teeny bit obsessed with an old human television show. Nobody knows exactly why, but this tan flier communicates entirely by spouting off quotes from the show. One might think that this would limit his verbal ability, but the show in question lasted for several thousand episodes and so Run-Over never runs out of things to say. It's enough to make his comrades grunt in annoyance — d'oh!

Go out on a Tuesday? Who am I, Charlie Sheen?

Fiction

Beast Wars: Uprising

Run-Over was a member of the Dark Skies Patrol within the 74th Division, which had been deployed to Tesarus during the Grand Uprising. When Steel Jaw's Pack abandoned subtlety and went in for a full-on attack, Run-Over took to the air as the Dark Skies Patrol sought to exploit their air superiority. In the ensuing dogfight, Run-Over shot down Skimmer and Freefall before reuniting with squad commander Wind-Sheer. Although unharmed, he lamented that he had bent his Wookiee. Derailment

Toys

Armada

  • Nemesis Prime with Run-Over (Super-Con, 2003)
  • Known designers: Joe Kyde (deco artist, Takara only)
A redeco of the Mini-Con Over-Run, Armada Run-Over transforms into a Cybertronic spacefighter. As a Mini-Con, he has a "Powerlinx" socket on his vehicle-mode underside which allows him to attach to any toy with a "Powerlinx" style 5 mm post; some toys have special Powerlinx posts that activate/unlock gimmicks when a Mini-Con is attached. He also has a third transformation, forming a rifle that can be held by any toy that uses 5 mm ports to mount accessories.
He was only available with his larger partner Nemesis Prime, released in the eighth and final wave of Armada Super-Cons.
In Japan, Nemesis Prime and Run-Over were only available as a mail-away item from TV Magazine (limited to 5000 pieces) under the names Scourge (a nod to Hasbro's Robots in Disguise Scourge) and Sweep (a nod to the Generation 1 Sweeps, the original Scourge's minions).
As he is gang-molded with Nemesis/Scourge, Sweep in now cast is a flat light gray plastic rather than Over-Run's tan (but still distinct from Over-Run's pearlescent silver base plastic). He also keeps Over-Run's wing stripes (though now in purple), paint operations which the Hasbro Run-Over lost.

Notes

  • The narration of "Derailment" notes that The Simpsons ran for "several thousand episodes". At the time of the story's release, the series had tallied up 606 episodes over 28 years of real life, and is still ongoing today.
