Tarantulas's first lair was located in the Sahara. The Low Road By extension, a portion of the Beast Wars would have taken place in the Sahara. The Darksyde may or may not have also been located in the Sahara, as it is depicted as fairly close to Tarantulas's lair.
2001 Robots in Disguise cartoon
Scourge and the Commandos were led by Megatron to the Sahara in an attempt to prevent Optimus Prime and the Autobot Brothers from finding the rest of the O-Parts.
