Super Energon

Super Energon is a bright blue colored energon that is hidden in the core of Cybertron. It is a prophetic fuel that means "hope" for the Transformers race. Those who are lucky or skilled enough to find this rare material are granted unbelievable power, but at a price. Attempting to absorb Super Energon results in incredible amounts of pain, and those who are not powerful enough can find themselves destroyed while attempting to harness the substance.

Discovered in a pool beneath the surface of Cybertron, Super Energon is a rarer and more potent form of Energon. This mysterious substance was used to upgrade Megatron and Starscream, as well as increase the size of some curious Insecticons. A striking trait of the fuel was that it was so powerful, it destroyed many Divebomb Terrorcons as their bodies tried to refine it into energon chips.

The Super Energon also caused Galvatron to grow to planet size, serving as the new body and host of the evil Unicron. Primus used the Super Energon to create a new sun. It was completed when Galvatron, possessing the spark of Unicron, dove into it, igniting it and saving the Q-system from destruction.

The Super Energon-created sun would not last forever, as the breakdown of Unicron's spark within led to a collapse and the creation of the Unicron Singularity. Fallen

In Aurex 503.21 Gamma, Alpha Q's universe was also lit by a Super Energon/Dark Energon star. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/06/03

In Aurex 1104.30-JH Zeta, Tarantulas had a secret agenda to find Super Energon on prehistoric Earth. He accomplished this, and kept the supply in the planet's orbit, until Optimus Primal sacrificed himself to destroy it. The resultant explosion created a transwarp explosion that turned many of the combatants into Transmetals and Fuzors. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/08/13

Each team combiner's limb components came with a chip of Super Energon and a Super Energon weapon. The only difference between a Super Energon chip and a regular one was its color. Super Energon chips were light blue as opposed to the previous green, yellow, or red.

In Takara's Super Link toyline, the combiner components were sold together in a gift set. The shade of blue plastic used on the Takara releases was a much darker, almost purple shade.

Several of the Hasbro releases were repackaged and sold in the Universe toyline.
