     Vice-Admiral Sir Robert Lewis FitzGerald was born in 1776.1 He married Jane Welch, daughter of Richard Welch and Lucretia Mary Favel Dehany, on 28 August 1800 at Parish Church of St. John, Melcombe Regis, Dorset, England.1 He died on 17 January 1844 at Bath, Somerset, England.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.)1
