TROPOMI (Q44488745) / Tropomi (Q17502490)
Items involved: Q44488745Talk, Q17502490Talk | Status: resolved | ||
TROPOMI is the (official) abbreviation for TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument. When I started Q44488745 I got no response for the existance of Q17502490, where the subject was named incorrectly (in my opinion) as Tropomi. Q17502490 is mostly connected to Wikipedia articles (four) on Sentinel-5 Precursor, which is the name of the satellite in which TROPOMI is orbiting earth. I believe these should be treated as two separate subjects/items. I propose to rename Q17502490 to Sentinel-5 Precursor (it's official name) and transfer the one article Tropomi to Q44488745. As I have no experience in splitting/merging on Wikidata, nor do I know if I am even allowed to do so, I am asking for help. PS: Please provide some info on how to use/fill in this page. --OSeveno (talk) 12:50, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

If you go to Belgrano Norte Line in English Wikipedia the link for Spanish is this: Ferrocarril General Belgrano#Línea Belgrano Norte instead of this: Línea Belgrano Norte even though in the Wikidata page it says Línea Belgrano Norte I tried editing but it keeps linking to "Ferrocarril General Belgrano#Línea Belgrano Norte", even when I deleted all links in the Wikidata page. --Yilku1 (talk) 01:27, 24 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I need some expert help. wp-en has all information on the subject at "Fritzl case" and wp-de has all information at "Josef Fritz". I know it could be resolved by merging the two items, but other languages actually have articles for both. I saw on the help page something about "anchors" but I couldn't immediately wrap my mind around it. Is there a way to get interlanguage links to work around the web of redirects, etc., so that English users viewing "Fritz case" can see the link to "Josef Fritz" on the German page and vice versa? Thanks, --SVTCobra (talk) 00:40, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

The Swedish word esplanad (and the Finnish corresponding word puistokatu, "park street") refers specifically to a wide street with a planted or tree-lined median. An esplanade in the English (and international) sense is called strandpromenad ("beach promenade", probably with a corresponding word in Finnish - rantaraitti?). Esplanad and esplanade are, of course, etymologically the same, but the meanings are completely different. /2001:6B0:2A:C110:E57D:10A7:E7A1:84A1 18:05, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
Someone put the links to sv:esplanad and fi:puistokatu back in July, so this is still an issue. /80.78.215.61 15:15, 7 October 2015 (UTC) |
