Motivation

Progress continues on the project aimed at mapping all active members of academia in Switzerland. However, challenges arise with the dismissal of the RERO database RERO ID (obsolete) (P3065) and the current fragmentation and quality level of university archives in the country. As a result, additional IDs besides institutional repositories directly geared by universities are drucial (e.g. see the creation of Swissubase person ID (P12248)).

The droitne.ch database provides essential identifiers and information regarding legal authors and experts in Switzerland. Incorporating this data into Wikidata would facilitate linking Swiss legal authors to their entries in this authoritative source, thereby enhancing the credibility and metadata accuracy of these profiles.

I've reached out to User:Bargioni to explore the possibility of creating a MnM catalogue, and scraping the required data appears to be feasible.
